"How The Smiths Pioneered Normcore" - GQ

I think the article has a fundamental misunderstanding of what "normcore" means. I don't think any of the Smiths ever wore running shoes, dad jeans and a tucked-in buttoned-up shirt.

The Smiths nominated for Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame 2016

Not to mention that none of them are actual rock and roll bands, except maybe the J.B.'s. The absurdity of inducting these groups in to a hall of fame for "Rock and Roll" is a complete joke. We're so far removed from this, what's even the point?

Article: TTY: Mania at Morrissey concert in Hull, 18 September 2015; UK record labels remain 'not i

It's quite ironic that I feel the exact same cognitive dissonance about being a fan of my local sports teams as I do about being a fan of Morrissey. Both have fans that I would sooner see driven off a cliff than ever have to associate myself with them.

"Cat-Advocate Morrissey Shows His Love For Iggy And The Stooges At LAX" - X17 Online

    1. True 2. True 3. True 4. False... You have to admit his current band is more polished than the Smiths ever were And at least his "oldies" catalog runs deep as f***, and aren't overplayed, radio-friendly dogshit... Can you imagine how suicidally sick Billy Joel is of playing "Uptown Girl"...

TTY: Morrissey and Australia - on Australian government killing of 2 million street/feral cats

So, do we make any distinction between him calling "Come come nuclear bomb" in the context of a song and him calling for it amidst his ham-handed, serious-faced political commentary? Without the context of a song/poem, he basically called for the mass murder of millions of people for the crime...

Morrissey set to perform on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (Aug. 18, 2015) - Headline Planet

The first time I saw Morrissey was back on the Late Late Show over a decade ago. I had never heard of the Smiths or Morrissey before then. He just wasn't on my radar as a 17 year old American... So thanks to Craig Kilborn for introducing him to many Americans like myself. The new show is...
