Morrissey Central "18 YEARS AGO TODAY" (March 27, 2024)

It's a catchy little gem and don't think it's ever been played live. Jesse was obviously inspired by First Of The Gang when he wrote this (you can tell during the song's chorus).

Musicradar: "...How The Smiths defied expectations on their final album, Strangeways, Here We Come" (March 20, 2024)

Speaking of the "well running dry," I think there was a reference in Mozipiedia to Johnny growing frustrated at the time of always having to be the one to come up with musical ideas. It makes you wonder if Stephen Street (and perhaps even Andy) would have eventually been asked to pitch in with...

Morrissey Central "SAY IT LOUD, SAY IT LOUD MALADJUSTED AND PROUD" (March 17, 2024)

Me three. I also wanna give a shoutout to the b-side "I Can Have Both," which is easily in my Top 10 Morrissey-solo tracks ever.

The Smiths added to Trump rally music (January 23, 2024)

I think the best way to “contain” Trump is to let him get reelected. This way, he will be reduced to “lame duck” status because of the two term limit, and then you will never have to worry about him being president again. The more the Democrats and PMC try to pile on Trump and amp up the...

Official Manager Statement regarding Morrissey’s health (January 26, 2024)

“The purpose of vaccination is to decrease the severity of diseases,” explained University of Tokyo virologist Kei Sato in JAMA. “Many people think that the purpose of vaccination is to prevent infection, but this is wrong.” In 2021 that statement would be grounds for arrest, extraordinary...

    Unpopular Opinion on Morrissey/Smiths?

Agreed wholeheartedly. I purchased Maladjusted a year after Quarry was released and, despite knowing it's lackluster reputation, was pleasantly surprised by it. I think it's a better album than Quarry. And Alma Matters is just as good of a single to me as IBEH and FOTGTD was, even if it has been...

Morrissey Central "FORTY YEARS AGO" (January 9, 2024)

He almost did. "What Difference Does It Make?" was soundchecked in 1997 on the Maladjusted tour.

    Kerouac's Crack vs. Playboys

    IIRC it's a Jesse song.

35th anniversary of Wolverhampton gig (December 22, 2023)

I've always loved "Rank" and I think Craig is a big reason why. I've always wondered why Craig wasn't contacted as a potential Johnny replacement in '87. I know they wanted Kevin Armstrong and even tried out Ivor Perry, but I think Craig would have made more sense being that he was already in...

Street revealed in The Jewel in the Crown documentary DVD that the recording sessions for Playboys/Interesting Drug basically turned into rehearsals for the Wolverhampton gig.

Alain Whyte and band mini Ireland tour (August 21, 2023)

Sorry Jesse but our ears are just fine.

Alain Whyte and band mini Ireland tour (August 21, 2023)

They genuinely love playing these songs and it shows. It's also nice to see Craig fitting in so well. I didn't think he was particularly well-suited for lead guitar during the early Solo days but he's fantastic as a second fiddle -- both as a Smith and in Alain's band.

Buckley is more mechanical whereas Spencer is more emotion.

ShoutoutLA: "Meet Brendan Buckley | Drummer" (November 20, 2023)

I do find it funny how Jesse always got harped on for not playing old Solo and Smiths songs correctly. And then when the new chick Carmen can barely play them at all, nobody seems to care.

ShoutoutLA: "Meet Brendan Buckley | Drummer" (November 20, 2023)

The closest we came to an original Lads lineup reunion was in 1999 for the Oye Esteban tour. Had Morrissey never faxed his "Jew Boy" comment to Spencer which led him to quit one year earlier, it would have happened. And, presumably, the Boz/Alain/Gary/Spencer lineup would have went on to record...

T.Rex YT: "Tony Visconti - In Conversation (Live at Rough Trade East, 14/09/2023)" (October 20, 2023)

I didn't know producer Jeff Saltzman was fired by Morrissey.

Camila Grey posts about broken foot on her Instagram (November 7, 2023)

Why? There is nothing special about the current line up.

Live Nation: Bangkok & Hong Kong now cancelled (November 9, 2023)

If he kept the old keyboard player (and the old guitarist as well) we wouldn't be worrying about her broken foot.

Kill Uncle and Southpaw Grammar - what ifs

I've always liked the original cover art for Southpaw Grammar. I might have to custom make an orange t-shirt made with that cover on the front.
