Southpaw Grammar may not be the greatest Morrissey album, per se, as he probably appears on less than half of it, but to me it's the sound of his best band (line up) having the time of their life, thrashing away to their heart's content. I particularly love the flirtation with prog rock and...
Fair enough.
I’m not particularly fond of Morrissey’s official videos. For some reason, I don’t think they manage to capture the essence of his songs. They don’t do them justice. Sure, there are some cool ones, The Last of International Playboys, I Have Forgiven Jesus, The More You Ignore Me...
I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Seasick Yet Still Docked. Think it's the one video that accurately captures his state of mind in regards to a song.
Great read. Stephen Street is such a nice person. And if one carefully read between the lines, it doesn't sound impossible him producing Morrissey's next album. He genuinely admires him despite the way Moz treated him after Viva Hate. Seen Morrissey is currently without a contract, imo, this...
I agree with you. I really like this cover. Would have been so much better. This session produced some "odd" photos but somehow likeable to the eye. One of those was even used in a shady Indonesina bootleg.
Original Maladjusted plus Dog on a Chain are his worst covers by a mile.
FWD,
Think it would be possible to put that file up again? TBH, Miraval sessions is the one I'm looking after but keen on other stuff if available.
Thank you.
Undoubtedly my favourite album with the passing of years. I rank it up there with V&I and Your Arsenal. The song Southpaw alone makes the album an absolute must. Keep listening. You'll have a click; we all do.
If you re looking for a 24h streaming radio, adds/publicity free, covering mainly Morrissey's catalogue, look no further. Bootlegs, less known live versions, occasional interviews and the mandatory official records. I know we live an era of musical streaming abundance but I found this radio...
That's Entertainment + Cosmic Dancer mock up
Future 7 inch version of "That's Entertainment."
From the talented Moz fan @UnderTheIronBridge. Collab with @moz_angeles213 on Instagram for this mock up.
And if you pick Have a go Merchant, how not to equally throw, Whatever Happens, I love you. Seriously, from this era, there was nothing short than awesome. The transition from Vauxhall into Southpaw was magical.
You learn a bit every day. I thought it was since it made part of the 2009 reissue. Just read Simon Goddard's explanation. Bizarre indeed why he chose it being from 1992.
True. But I hate the f**cked up track order they did with the 2009 reissue. I'm just counting they'll do something similar to my above post. I do have the original, but I would love to have the added tracks on vinyl. Guess this will be our last chance for that.
