UPDATE Jan. 3:
Uncleskinny has posted scans in the comments section.
Just got the new UNCUT magazine (Feb 2013 - Gram Parsons on cover).
Great article on Mick Ronson including a two-thirds of a page interview with Moz. Very good interview with some great quotes that I've not seen before...
Just seen the new Loaded mag in Tesco and it says "MORRISSEY" on the front.
But it's sealed (as it comes with a free pin-ups supplement).
Anyone know anything about it?
Cheers.
Now out (came out last week).
Def worth getting. Much thicker (about 200 pages more) than the last edition and comes up-to-date.
(The looooong bit at the beginning about Ireland is still there!)
The release date on the Rough Trade site had been moved up to June 11, 2012 from the original Oct...
JohnWilson14 (Morrissey's interviewer tonight) has just tweeted that:
- autobiog is finished, 200,000 words = 660 pages, currently redrafting but out next year. Moz wants it to be a Penguin Classic.
- Moz doesn't follow J.Marr on Twitter
- he was eloquent and charming
Sounds good!
I spoke to Mr. Fry at his book-signing last night in Oxford. I asked him if he had met Morrissey and he said "No, I haven't met The Mozzer but I wish I had. I like him very much."
That's as far as we got because the staff were hurrying along the massive queue (they were even asking customers...
From today's Times: Johnny Marr on the rise and fall of The Smiths PART 2
1986-87
I don’t think the band got over the problems with Rough Trade, but I felt that I did, personally. I started having three square meals a day, stopped drinking and taking drugs, and got on with the music. I know...
The following is from today's Times website (I admit I'm a subscriber but it's only a pound at the mo!).
[I presume it is also in the hard copy?]

- There's a lovely pic at the top of JM hugging a grinning Moz.

Good (short) review from the Guardian:

(Dunno if this has already been posted but I'm sure Kewpie will take time out of her busy schedule to let us all know if it has.)
Re: New book: LOTS of Morrissey entries
Hi Peter,
It's worth it for a tenner. I was very pleased to see lots of Morrissey entries in the index.
[Also note that there are a couple of small Morrissey mentions in the new Uncut (Jack White on the cover, 150th edition) - a Q&A with Bernard Sumner...
I reckon Uncleskinny + Jukebox Jury will like it:

No such thing as bad publicity:

This won't do him any harm:
It's the main review with half a page devoted to Moz.
Written by Boyd Hilton.
4 out of 5.
Quick summary: This album shows he has still got it. 2 epics: It's Not Your Birthday + You Were Good In Your Time. Best track: It's Not Your Birthday... Worst track: All...
3 out of 5.
Morrissey’s third album this decade reunites him with producer Jerry Finn, the man at the mixing desk for 2004 success You Are The Quarry. After 2006’s disappointing Ringleader Of The Tormentors, the singer has hit form again with an emotional rush of an album brimming with hurt...
4 out of 5.
The gladioli-waving bedsit poet of old has transformed himself into a brawny rock statesman on recent albums, and Years Of Refusal continues the process. Morrissey's latest backing band imbue some darkly humorous songs with a little too much bluster, but his old deftness...
4 out of 5. Phew! - I was expecting a 2 or 3.
Neil Young on cover (as always!)
Small mention of Morrissey on front cover.
YOR isn't the main album review (that goes to Springsteen) but it is classed as one of the main 10 - he gets a full page with a nice photo taking up about a third of the...
Nick Cave on (dark red) cover.
No mention of Moz review on cover.
Almost 1 page devoted to YOR review - a new (I think) photo of Moz takes up half of the page + writing fills the rest of the page (so not a very big review).
An average 3 out of 5 is given.
I've only had a quick glimpse but it...
Just for completeness:
The Moz review is in the new issue of Q which is the MARCH one.
[Someone (a moderator?) has incorrectly changed the main Title of the thread to read "Feb 09" but the Feb issue is the "old" one with U2 on the front.]
