No Worries
I didn't hear anything wrong with his voice.
It wavered during one line, directly after a falsetto, but that was it.
His speaking voice was clear all night.
I seriously don't think you've anything to worry about.
Anybody spotting a theme recurring within ROTT and it's accompanying singles?
"Sweetie Pie
I'm ending my life.
Because I've fallen in love."
Sweetie Pie
"Even now//In the final hour//Of my life//I am falling in love again"...
Are you sure?
The first line of the yodel at the end, I've always taken to be "Oh...lackaday lackaday lackaday lackaday" ('lackaday' being an old English word/phrase meaning 'deary me' or 'Good Heavens' that often turns up in old musicals like 'My Fair Lady' and a lot of Victorian era...
Hey Peter,
Is it not the Royal Mail that's delivering them then?
At least if I'm not in tomorrow, I've got 12 days to organise them.
Thanks for letting me know they've been dispatched though....I was starting to get a bit panicky about them.
My only problem with the track is that Morrissey's vocals seem terribly listless on it, as if he can't really be bothered singing it. Which makes you wonder why he suggested the song in the first place.
Twinkle, herself, may not be the greatest vocalist in the world, but she certainly imbues...
Most cringeworthy moment
The Finsbury Park/Union Jack incident.
Or that bit in the 'We Hate It When...' video when they are all spinning around holding hands.
Whilst 'pie' is certainly a euphamism for a vagina in Scotland and some parts of the north of England, I don't think that is Morrissey's intended use in the song. The opening lines are surely to give a character sketch of Dave.
'Head in the clouds': a bit of a dreamer, short attention span...
In 'Morrissey & Marr: The Severed Alliance' there is no reference anywhere to any homosexual relationships or romances. The only romances mentioned are those with females.
When the N.M.E was doing the whole 'Morrissey Is A Racist' schtick, it was reported that Morrissey once had a black...
*Majestic!!!*
I seem to have said this about a hundered times on this site in the past few weeks, but I think 'Life Is A Pigsty' is the greatest song of his solo career.
This is good news.
I wonder if he'll be the main guest like last time, or if he'll be on nearer the start. Knowing Johnathan, I'm sure he'll keep him till last.
A lot of people criticised Johnathan's interview technique last time, but I thought Morrissey looked more relaxed on this show than...
Thanks for pointing that out, I'd never heard that before.
The N.M.E, again probably in the same article, claimed that Morrissey's flirtation with skinhead imagery was almost certainly 'a gay thing'. They also implied that Morrissey chose the location for the 'We Hate It When Our Friends...'...
Scott Walker: "If You Go Away", "Funeral Tango" or "The Girls And The Dogs".
Tindersticks: "Another Night In"
Momus: "The Complete History Of Sexual Jealousy Part 17-24"
Frank Sinatra: "It Was A Very Good Year"
Elvis Presley: "Blue Moon"(I know other artists have done this, but I...
The word 'Quarry' in 'You Are The Quarry' means 'prey', as in 'You Are The Hunted'.
The sound-clip on 'We'll Let You Know' actually says 'The Arsenal'. It's definitely a reference to the football team, and Alain shouts the phrase on the 'Beethoven' version.
The use of the word 'Vauxhall'...
