You're missing that how the actor looks is very important to Morrissey (with James Dean he didn't really even care for the films that much).
As cool and groundbreaking as Fassbinder was, looks-wise he'd never end up on a Morrissey backdrop or album cover, though perhaps some of the actors in his films would.

Morrissey's in his italian film 60's now, it's time Morrissey
[well I'm sure he's aware of him] goes into past German
alternative film, with Rainer Werner Fassbinder as
best, well he' died too young as many great artist did

not only Fassbinder but in the 1970/80 some good
work came from Germany, he can do France also,
but the cover of the Smiths albun The Queen is dead
one of France most known filmstar was shown
though I liked the comedy movies with the great
Louis F.
[yes the gendarmes movies, some say they're cheap
but Funet was a leaugue of his own]

I'm Dutch, currently Martin Koolhoven 2008 movie is showing
USA movies, with english undertitles, Martin didn't agree if the
film got messed up by USA voice over, so real Dutch spoken
and undertittled, it's was allready shown on Dutch TV,
but good things take time, if it comes to get yer movie
get a change on the other side of the world

see it, it's only in 80 cinema's, so 1 cinema per great city

to be on-topic, it's typical Morrissey, we might wonder why,
and who, and check, etc.

'and they say he's mentall'

Günter Lamprecht who played Franz Biberkopf in Berlin Alexanderplatz. :lbf:

From Answers.com:

Two popular lead actors star in this conventional story of unrequited love, directed by Mauro Bolognini. Emilio (Anthony Franciosa) is caught in the midst of a heavy-duty mid-life crisis when he runs into sexy Angiolina (Claudia Cardinale), voluptuous and frivolous in equal measure. In spite of good advice from his friends and family, including his sister Amalia (Betsy Blair), Emilio pursues the gorgeous Angiolina with single-minded dedication. He is incredibly unaware that she is as unconcerned as he is committed, and by not reading the obvious warning signs he heads right toward a big fall. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Well, if Morrissey ever chooses a black person as a central visual how about Günther Kaufmann? He was pretty cool in his day.

I would prefer El Hedi ben Salem from Angst Essen Seele Auf (Fear Eats The Soul). He has an interesting life story too. Becoming Fassbinders' lover, stabbing three people in Berlin and being extradited to France where he took his own life while in prison.

It's a terrific image. I find it kind of humorous when used in this context. What is Morrissey telling us with this doom-laden scenario?

Maybe he's trying to say he's Anthony Franciosa and the statue might as well be Kristeen Young. :lbf:

I think you're about who is Sunny about, some say Sunny Liston, a boxer who
became a drug addict, but some say it's about his former bodyguard/mate Jake,
who had drug problems too, he also was a boxer, not proffesional

I looked at the vodieo's an hours ago, both boxers and sunny, and it gives nothing
really away than cornelius carr who was on the backdrop of the Boxers tour
I hope Morrissey does not ' trim' this parts of 600 pages he allready
written, surely about his boxers and sunny background
I'd say write more and detailed, and make it 1000, 2 books of 500:lbf:

@King Lear, I' realy hadn't thought about the actor looks,I thought it's more
pointing/ a direction towards Morrissey likes

the boy in ' der Blecktrummel' would be OK with me, but today if you
show a pic of a kid, in this movie about 10 to 12, you bet today you gonna get
the media picking on you for having the hots for kids, even if I walk with
my sisters sons' or when Mick is a day with me, as I'm his Godfather...people in my
neighbourhood know I don't have kids so they directly ' might' think about
nasty sexual directions which I won't go futher cause I can understand it, but it's
getting also out of hand if yer not even can walk with yer sisters kid, or play
a game soccer to teach them and get that kinda shit throwed at you, me
thinks Morrissey's aware of that too

I really am ashamed as I hear see or read men or even religious or people who
work with children abuse them in whatever way, but it's getting also out of control
in normal society though rather 1 child saved than not asking an adult who
you know never seen with children or know the neighbourhood ones kids with strangers and warn their parents

sorry fot writing about this, but it was an impulsive one, and a an issue which
is written/tv newsitem daily
[it's just gneral comment so nothing saying this part special to King Leer]

no- i meant chris eubank ,who was there around the time when morrissey stayed in rome.
just a friend and if i remember correctly also some kind of bodyguard...
as with jake ..I personally dont think he had a drug problem, he looked reasonable fit back then
..but neither you nor I know him,so we cant judge about his experience with drugs,eh?
tI would guess that was an assumption spread from one Uk journos to another and as you know
what journos say is not that often true-same with the
assumption of one journo jake being a professional boxer, while he was and is rather an artist
