Re: A Morrissey lookalike who predates Moz and had a long (if largely anonymous) career in rock musi
"In early May 1963, the band's manager, Andrew Loog Oldham, said Stewart should no longer be onstage, that six members were too many for a popular group and that the older, burly, and square-jawed Stewart did not fit the image."
Oh, so he was the Dale Hibbert of the Strolling Bones [sic]? Well, that's just another couple of ageist, svengali-cult-ist nails in the coffin of "the greatest rock'n'roll band ever". Hibbert out because he was heteronormative and "didn't fit in"? The dancer too genderqueer? The other guitarist too old? No difference between The Stones and The Smiths: both careerist opportunists, like all the other 'popstar' losers.
erjm, "Viva Hate!" to Morrissey, Jagger-Richards. And Leonard Cohen! I need an axe or a gallows for this 'destroy all pop frauds' stuff. LOL!
