I don't have anything to back up this statement other than anecdotal evidence, but I'm pretty sure that your "average Morrissey fan" is more of a Guardian reader than a Daily Mail reader, and Guardian readers are likely to be pro-Brexit and pro-immigration because that's how they feel, not because the Guardian tells them to be. Morrissey has only himself to blame for alienating himself among a huge proportion of his fan base.
I said the very same to a teacher friend of mine last week ( all lefties ! ), stating her option of Moz reflected the champagne swilling socialist guardian readers his audience had grown up to be, me ... Ill stick with the Daily Mail thank you !

Didn't happen. All made up. With words from Mail headlines.

Haters fail to realize that "Rose Garden" is directed at them. Nothing has been promised to you. Enjoy the music that Morrissey has made and stop to smell the roses instead of dissecting every comment ad nauseam.

Of course you are absolutely right on this one - Moz's views are anathema to his indie fan / ex-NME reading / left-wing lentil-eating fanbase. In fact the wrath of such a fanbase has been devastating. Never upset a vegan!

I have to say, I've never met a teacher who didn't have a fridge full of champagne.

The Guardian is FAKE NEWS :grin:from first to last page. Loons love to read and nod in unison as they peruse it.
Most of the stuff is mean to be read by left wing loon slow learners, there are many articles written by Imams and Ayatollahs, loons love that type of article, other articles written by dudes in silk stockings about specie aliens etc. Its a soft headed mess, but the left wing loon reads and feels full of knowledge.
Its a very sad situation.:mask:

The left wing loon 'moral compass':lbf: is a limited apparatus.:lbf::lbf:

these left wing pollos are a trip:crazy:

Yet is is argued that his records will fail to sell at all following recent comments and events. So on that basis it is something of an achievement.

"It is argued..." - by whom? Where did they say that? Who was it? Who said he wouldn't sell anything? Was it some bloke down the pub?

You are arguing that both his album and single not getting into the top 100 and a cancelled tour are signs of progress and achievement?

This is the lowest point. And it's only going to get lower once racist blogger Paul Joseph Watson gets his interview.

There are no achievements anymore. Only new and more dismal lows.

WtF? Viva Hate has been 'downvoting' LOL your posts too?

In the end EVERYONE will be downvoting FrustratedSkinny’s abysmal anti-intellectual troll-posts, that’s the one good thing about them.

I’m arguing that the single sold better than 39 other records in the UK vinyl chart, despite negative press for quite some time.

Yeah, but do you see The Beatles jumping for joy at No.1? C'mon. A couple of thousand pieces of vinyl sold, and you thinking that's worthy of celebration? This nugget had to be sought out, a search party had to go and find this bit of info. That's where we're at? A chart no-one at all looks at unless it's in their interests to do so?

*Jeez*

*also* - "despite negative press for some time" - your words.
So, could you provide evidence - one piece would do - that someone, somewhere, said to themselves "Morrissey has been SO unfairly treated by the PRESS, that I'm going to go buy a piece of vinyl to support him, and therefore propel him to the dizzying heights of number two in the vinyl single charts. I DO hope he can beat an old Beatles single"

I guess he'll take any kind of token victory at this point.

When you're celebrating your placement in the vinyl chart, you've really hit rock bottom.

In reality, Morrissey and the word "love" have no place being seen next to each other at this point in his career.
