Just rang the Centrelink (Australian for social welfare) office
to find out that I still owe them $180, which
means I can't get a bloody loan for another nine months.......
So pissed off. I can barely afford to eat.
Looking for a miracle.........grrrr
It's not easy being a single mum

I don't owe.
I don't have a credit card.
I also don't have a credit rating, so if I did want to borrow I'd be considered a risky borrower.

I like the idea of micro credit organisiations, http://http://www.grameen-info.org/

which encourage responsible finance and help those the big banks don't want to know. :)

Too many fall into the hands of loan sharks.

Can't feed them? Don't breed them.

Oh my God. That is so f***ing harsh. You know what,
I never planned on being a single parent. It isn't my fault
that my ex injured his back at work and starting spending
money on drugs, which is why I left him.
It isn't my fault that both my parents are dead.
It isn't my fault either that I just spent the last two years
looking after elderly people in a job that didn't pay enough
for me to be able to support myself and my son, and has
left us in a position of paying off the debts we have incurred
as a result of "being nice to people".
Oh and by the way, in case you didn't already know once you
have a child you can't put it back......
I never regret having my son and I know that things will improve
for me. Anyway, you can say what you like as you obviously
do........

Me too. Some people can leave debts behind & all the post comes to their old address for years (half the post in my house is for some dick that did a runner) but they always seem to find me!

Hmmm, does a student loan count? If so, then 'Yes' However, I've always been brought up to look at things like, ''You don't have any money? Tough shit. You don't have anything to eat? Then starve''

With what money you do have left over just buy a Warbuton's toastie loaf, a cucumber and a bottle of Vimto 'cause it goes a heck of a long way. :)

I pretty much want to tell you guys to f*** off for being insensitive, but Mauve21 did post this in the pigsty for some reason.

Is it against the Terms of Service to have not read the Terms of Service?

I think so.

A few weeks ago my mother was sharing her concerns about me. Subtle as always she started raking up all the things I've yet to achieve in my advanced age, ending with an hysterical "30 years old, and you've got nothing, nothing!".
I wanted to cheer her up, so I pointed out that another thing I don't have is debts. It did seem to make her feel a bit better :)

I have no idea why I quoted you when asking that question - but thank you, nonetheless.

You're welcome.

(You can quote me on that.:thumb:)

It mystifies me why Mothers think berating their offspring for perceived shortcomings is a better motivator than praise...
