Favourite Morrissey Rhymes

you have never been in love
until you've seen the stars
reflect in the reservoirs

I got chills when I first heard that line on the Craig Kilbourne performance.

Yes, I agree, its a great lyric :)

I have tons of favorites and a few dislikes but the one that comes to mind right now is this one.

You ask me the time
But i sense something more
And i would like to give
What i think you're asking for

FIRST POST! HELLLLLLLO!

With the drive and ambition
The zeal I feel this is my time

Has the Perrier gone straight to my head
Or is life sick and cruel, instead

Well, she lives for the written word
And people come second, or possibly third

Page after page of sniping rage
An English singe or an American tinge

(this thread could go on forever... in which case, I'm due :))

give us a drink and make it quick
or else i'm going to be sick
all over your frankly vulgar
red pull over

just right now:

"all heady books, she'd sit and prophesize
it took a tattooed boy from Birkenhead
to really really open her eyes"

because I imagine that eye-opening moment when she crossed the line between the reality of the books and the grubby world outside the library doors

YES -and
'now see how thetwocolorsblend my friend'

Not to be picky or anything, but isn't it more like "now see how thetwocolorsblend my friend?" :p

FIRST POST! HELLLLLLLO!

Great first post! :p And that song is one of my favourites, the lyrics are soooooo....erhm..... :o explicit?

No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm

It says so much with such few words

Too many choices, but here are some that haven't been mentioned:

Pretty Girls Make Graves-

Upon the sand, upon the bay
There is a quick and easy way, you say
Before you illustrate
I'd rather state

Break Up the Family-

The strange logic in your clumsiest line
It stayed emblazoned on my mind
...
Captain of games, solid framed
I stood on the touchline
Hailstones, driven home
In the car - No brakes? I don't mind

Maladjusted-

With a soul full of loathing for stinging bureaucracy
Making it anything other than easy
For working girls like me
With my hands on my head
I flop on your bed
With a head full of dread
For all I've ever said
Maladjusted, maladjusted...
Never to be trusted

It's Hard to Walk Tall When You're Small-

I can kill standing still/...scare with a stare/...attack from the back
...
Success is just a mess

Life is a Pigsty-

Can you please stop time?
Can you stop the pain?
I feel too cold
And now I feel too warm again
