On top of mind the following films are dealt with the subject:

Leon Morin, Pretre (Jean-Pierre Melville 1961)

Letter From An Unknown Woman (Marcel Ophuls 1948)

L'histoire d'Adel H. (François Truffaut 1975)

Death In Venice (Luchino Visconti 1972)

Monsieur Hire (Patrice Leconte 1989)

Mississippi Marmaid (François Truffaut 1969)

Love And Death On Long Island (Richard Kwietniowski 1997)

Adelheid (Frantisek Vlacil 1970)

Marnie (Alfred Hitchcock 1964)

Senso (Luchino Visconti 1954)

Deep End (Jerzy Skolimowski 1970)

First Love (Maximillian Schell 1970)

Are there some more?

Thank you very much, mozmal.

I remember to add:

A Place In The Sun (George Stevens 1951)

You sure watch a lot of old movies, Kewpie.

Shopgirl

"Of Human Bondage" - either version, but I prefer the one with Laurence Harvey and Kim Novak.

Also I remember Heavy (James Mangold 1995).

Pruitt Taylor-Vince is one of the underrated / underused actors.

Murderous Instincts (Shohei Imamura, 1964)

Suddenly my memory started giving many titles tonight.

Now, Voyager (Irving Rapper 1942) which is sadly totally forgotten by Japanese audience. :(
