Guilty Pleasures (music-wise)?

Cher - "Believe"

Not something I have on my computer or listen to frequently, but when I hear it I swell up with happiness.

Cher - "Do You Believe in Love after Love?"

I am quite a big fan of Cher.

I say it loudly. I say it proudly. Cher is the shit.

I love Cher, but I consider Belive a very guilty pleasure. Naughty, naughty Neader ;)

OK, I'll fess up:

Sarah McLachlan is a bit cheesy, it's true, but she has a lovely singing voice, and some killer songs that feel good when I'm on the road alone, late at night...

Reminds me of Trainspotting

That's not a guilty pleasure.

I didn't know that was a guilty pleasure. :o I <3 80's music.

I think this thread is for trashy music that you would never admit to your friends that you listen to but when you are by yourself you put it on loop.

Perhaps you both wouldn't say 80s electropop was a guilty pleasure, because neither of you feel ashamed of it. I do, so for me it is. I don't know quite why I'm ashamed to listen to them, but I am, even though there are some bands which are generally considered a lot worse than the ones I like. That's just the why it rolls.

I try not to ever feel too guilty about anything.

However, I suppose if we were discussing something atypical to our own respective tastes, I've been getting into the various works of David McAlmont recently. I've never really dabbled in what I suppose could arguably be considered 'soul' until now.

Butler & McAlmont are great - and very under-rated. Their album (the 1st?) "The Sound of McAlmont & Butler" (1995) is a forgotten gem. The first track "Yes" is amazing.
