Today's missive from our favourite radical spokesperson.

I’ve Been Dreaming Of A Time When / the English / are sick to death of Labour and Tories - Morrissey Central

I despise racism.

I despise fascism.

I would do anything for my Muslim friends, and I know they would do anything for me.

In view of this, there is only one British political party that can safeguard our security.

That party is For Britain.

Please give them a chance. Listen to them. Do not be influenced by the tyrannies of the MSM who will tell you that For Britain are racist or fascist - please believe me, they are the very opposite!!! Please do not close your mind.

Labour is hopelessly naive.

Theresa May’s policies have turned Britain into a international target.

The BBC has closed down.

The Loony Left is concerned only with victim culture.

For Britain will keep British society together. Violence is not the way forward.
There are many problems in modern Britain that have become too large for Theresa May to deal with - mostly because she created them in the first place. The press appear to deal only in fashionable outrage; inflammatory and unjust comments against any new party that threatens the same old bloody pointless two-party system.

Please give For Britain a chance. They will bring an end to the modern Westminster mania for self-destruction. For Britain is the bulldog breed that will never surrender. Both Labour and Conservatives have already sold you down the river into righteous oblivion.

This is my last political strike. No wish to upset anyone! But the time has come to fight, and Labour and the Conservatives have their backs to the sea.

Are you capable of change?

Thank you, and peace for all of us

MORRISSEY

Oh thank you g23!
You are very kind and it’s true, even I as hardcore Moz-fan sometimes feel desperate about Moz saying things that I can’t understand as to why he is saying them other than create controversity and he can be irritating like hell.

But then suddenly there is a wonderful song and suddenly he says something very funny, very Morrissey-esque and you can’t help but laugh.

And you forgive him, the charmer.

He sometimes is still like a cheeky, naughty child but I can appreciate someone who is able to be and feel like a child. I know people hold it against him and just want him to be and act like his age which at the same time is seen as old and boring.

I believe an artist like he wants to be can only do so when the child inside is still there.
And the outcome, musically can be like a hit or miss. I think it is a calculated risk in the way he works.
A bit contradictory to his image as a control freak, I admit but everything is contradictory with Moz and strange and mysterious but never boring.
I'm still not ready to forgive quite yet. I know these are desperate weird times and most people are losing it to some extent or another, but I can't reconcile this heel turn (aka embracing being the villain) against the guy who wrote some of the most touching songs I know of. We all have that ache inside that made him resonate with us in the first place. I'm just not into how seemingly cynical his music has become, or alternately, lightweight or M by the numbers.

Because he feels Britain is going down the toilet and the masses are being taken the piss out of. It's very commendable of someone in the public eye to follow their social conscience and speak the truth like this. People seem to hate both Labour and the Tories but when he simply suggests an alternative people scream Nazi! Racist! Bigot! That's how brainwashed by the MSM party line we've become. If you look at Britain First they are actually a left wing old-style pre-Blair Labour-style party for ordinary people. Yes, they are anti Islam but so was Karl Marx who said religion was the opium of the masses. The modern left/Islam alliance is baffling and throws the whole notion of left/right definition in the air, leaving it meaningless.
Just don't see why you would care so much, if you're not bothered enough with the political process to even vote? But fair enough, he's entitled to his opinion. I personally don't think he's a racist or a bigot, just the epitome of a boringly predictable, middle-aged white dude.

I'm a boring middle-aged white dude and I've never been racist. He's a boring middle-aged white dude and he is most definitely a racist. The one does not exclude the other.

Skinny dislikes me posting a link. What next?
It was a link relating a tale with a biased standpoint from the outset. That's why I disliked it. They started off from the right-wing standpoint and there was no discussion. It was shit.

If Skinny dislikes its a true sign that its true. When he likes its when its loony city.
Skinny and Surface may be leaving us soon and moving to Anatolia or an area close by. Much closer to Mecca.

Am I the only one who reacts to the diction of this message? Is this really Morrissey? Although his thoughts regularly trail in directions in which many of us struggle to follow him (part of his genius, one could argue), the language in which he expresses them is always smart and carefully put, even when he is trying to provoke a reaction.

This message, however, strikes me as nothing of the sort: using the word "bloody"? THREE exlamation marks in a row? Hackneyed phrases like "bulldog breed"? Begging the reader for attention ("please")? Excusing himself with a phrase like "No wish to upset anyone!"...? All of this is so unlike his usual way of putting his thoughts across that I have a hard time believing him to be the framer of this message. Furthermore, wholeheartedly embracing a political party strikes me as the complete antithesis to Moz' dismissive attitude to all political parties and to ideology in general.

I have a hard time even believing he is the one who wrote this.

Yes, it seems to be a Real Fake news!

Someone should fly a drone through your window and slap you with a dangling sausage.

No way is Morrissey boring. Bon Jovi is boring.

People who boast they've never been racist are usually the first to cross the road when a posse of blacks are heading towards them on the pavement.

No, he's just being a prick and it's disappointing. He should hang out with my neighbor. He has 3 dogs and is sitting out in the sun listening to right wing talk radio as I speak.

I'm sick of this debate. I'm not Morrissey's biggest fan, but he's a terrific songwriter and knows a melody and hook or two with a skill that prevails today. I've been thinking and reading about all this over the past few days and I've decided that I can separate Morrissey the artist from his views and beliefs. After all, he's been banging on about Meat is Murder for 30 years and I'm a regular visitor to the Beefeater restaurant here in the UK (actually I've often chuckled what would Moz think as I tuck into my succulent sirloin!), so as his view didn't affect me then, I don't think his views are going to affect me now. Rightly or wrongly, I can understand how he's arrived at some of his views, but he won't find an answer with those nut jobs and neither will I. But why does it matter to people so much anyway? Why does he have to subscribe the "One Love" populist approach to the world. I'm a working class socialist (I think!) through origin, yet I understand why people think as they do because mainstream politics is full of lies, inconsistency and takes the piss out of us all. Show ponying is the order of the day, faux outrage and the snow flake generation. He's also entitled to his views and if you don't like don't buy. But please can all of you so easily offended anti racist - anti fascist fascists just pack up and go home as it's wasted energy. Morrissey is a curmudgeonly near 59 year old bloke who has a particular world view, that's his, I have mine, I'm not famous, but he is and we're reportedly outraged that he speaks his mind where other's wont. I actually don't care, because in this world there are far darker forces than the likes of Morrissey to worry about. Once again, if you don't like don't buy. It's as if we can't get over that he's not the quiffed, fey, romantic, handsome chap of 1987. That's gone, now move on.
