Morrissey Drama of the Year 2007 Poll

It's him choosing his grave. I want him to be buried in England or next to Oscar.

Pere Lachaise is very crowded, perhaps hard to reserve a plot in there.

Morrissey might change his mind later and his relatives might refuse to tell us the location.

:o OK, i am fully recanting my previous POV that the LA palladium kissing incident should be omitted from the nominations of a runner-up poll if one is reaired (without NME as a choice). I now agree that moz's stage smooch should be in the noms....

sorry kewpie - i truly apologize, and it is a good suggestion... but maybe we can reword it to something more moz-centric (like, for ex., "LA Palladium: Moz fueled by mouth invader kiss" ;) ...or similar...you get the general idea)
I too agree with this suggestion. Having witnessed this sexual violation first hand....seeing her tongue forcing its way into his mouth...is still rather horrifying. Yes, it must be stay.

Although the NME Controversy will clearly win. :(

One very positive outcome of NME contorversy is, Merck sends emails to contact DavidT to correct information on mainpage.

I'm not the only one to be pleased that Merck acknowledges Morrissey-Solo is very important platform to promote Morrissey's work. :)

that nme fiasco was blown out of all proportion imo. if morrissey did actually say those things then his legend status has only been enhanced. it's basically what a lot of people think but keep their opinions to themselves to avoid the ridiculous furore thats followed it:mad::mad:

But doesn't the fact that some people feel the need to express their opinions on said fiasco even on this thread support the theory that it is indeed, and unfortunately, the drama of the year? :D

ok, i believe kewpie designated me poll master for the runner-up morrissey drama 2007 poll i suggested a few posts back, since this enemey story is sorta like the frink thread (being excluded from the best thread 2007 poll): everyone knows it is the winner already, so let's conduct a more heated contest!

i am going to begin coalescing the additional nominations mentioned in this thread to soon start the runner up poll. then i'll post those final nominations in this thread and have a last call for any more last minute suggestions.

only 81 people have currently voted this poll but seems quite established that NME has won. SO, ONWARDS TO THE RUNNER UP POLL!!

p.s. thanks in advance for racking your brains for any other worthy morrissey dramas in 2007 for inclusion and hope to see MANY MORE of you voting in the follow-up runner-up poll. :)

Currently: Almost 10 times as many votes for the negative NME Press debacle as for the new Decca recording contract. I'm looking forward to 2008/2009/2010 in the hope that Morrissey know has stable funding for touring / releases / wages for his band and tour crew, etc.

It's nearly Christmas! Let's be positive! Get those party hats / Santa outfits!!!!

LAST CALL: Runner Up Poll

Runner up Morrissey Drama 2007 poll (minus winning NME) imminent...didn't see any other noms come in since posting 2 days ago, so here it is -- last call for any quick advice (bad links, dates wrong, spelling mistakes, erroneous quotes, & other misc. problems) -- or below will be finalized (and condensed into choices) for the poll.

Maximum 15 poll choices, and it's right at 15. (seems there won't be room now for "other" on the poll).
Ha, Morrissey involved in more dramas than we initially thought... :)

Sincere thanks to those who contributed additional nominations

p.s. Please hold off comment on which you will vote for & why until the runner up poll is actually posted...the purpose here is to vet the noms before delivering the poll

Re: LAST CALL: Runner Up Poll

Thank you very much n.o.i.p :)

The last one Team Morrissey's date should be Nov 16 because three hours later NME skinstorm was on mainpage Merck replied there.

I'd like to suggest you to post the poll next week because I'm going to post Morrissey-Solo Thread of the Year 2007 poll first.

kewpie, i'm very disappointed by your lack of interest in this poll; you should vote while there's still time.

Congrats to HIM's 5600th! :D

I reserve my vote until the last minute, 24th Dec.

If you haven't voted yet, please vote!

Kate, you're the campaign manager of LOINCLOTHS! :p

It's less than 90 minutes left to vote the poll.

Please vote if you haven't done it yet.

Thank you very much for taking time to vote. :)

Now vote is closed, however, no one in particular will post a runner up poll shortly.

57 people who voted NME fiasco and others will have another chance to choose a memorable drama in 2007.

Thank you very much again and hope more people will vote runner up poll. :)
