Ah, ok....I get you now. OK, true, and that really sucks. A creator needs to be paid for his/her work, unless that work has been given free of choice.
But I'm really more interested in the clash of legal technicalities here - Ownership of celebrity likeness vs. Ownership of original photograph

They simply gave up asking him to pay.

I thought the exact same thing. Me reckon Moz and Robert Smith are destined to make music together even though they hate each other's guts.

They hated each other in 1987 but they don't anymore. Morrissey was pretty complimentary about Smith the last time he was asked describing him as original although I don't know that the compliment was returned.
