I can't really see the scar in these pics, but I have read before that he does indeed have one. Now where is this quote...ah, here tis - in reference to the Your Arsenal Cover:

"Its cover is a live photograph of the singer, tongue out, shirt asunder (stomach scar courtesy Davyhulme Hospital) suggestively waggling his microphone at fly-height"

I have a 1985 Smiths gig on DVD and he definately doesn't have a stomach scar in that, so something must have happened since then.

By the way, Nightandday, I can't get over that pic you've got on the page previous to this one where he has 'Initiate Me' written on his stomach.

I'll give him him a good ol' initiating!
