Morrissey NOT invited to Nobel Artist celebration after KFC comments

Google translation - Oslo's mayor, Conservative Party politician Fabian Stang, has invited all the artists who are attending the celebration of the Nobel Peace Prize to a conversation, rather - all except Morrissey. The reason that Morrissey gets ported can be found in a statement that the British pop icon felled during a concert shortly after the terrorist attacks on Utøya and in Oslo, reports NTB.

Morrissey is known as a militant vegan and in between snack, he compared the terrorist attacks with the production of fast food.

- We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown. But that's nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken every day, said the singer.

In an interview with the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet explains Fabian Stang their unwillingness to invite Morrissey:

- The seriousness of comparing our nation's tragedy to flipping burgers makes it difficult for me to be accommodating, even though his job is to sing, not talk.

"His job is to sing, not talk." f***ing fascist!

Yeah...they're wondering which side will go better with their popcorn chicken - coleslaw or green beans?

I would've gone..."I wonder which version of Children in Pieces he's going to play...the 8, 12, 16 or 24 piece value meal deal with an extra side?"

I'll get me sweatshirt.

Oslo's Mayor, Fabian Stang, is making a fool of himself. He's pretending to not know what fast food burgers are made of! What a MORON FABIAN STANG is. Yes, if the other artists have half a brain, they will boycott this sham.

GoneForeverNotQuite

The other artists should boycott.

Norway 10 Points!

Hopefully, troll-gargoyle Morrissey is walking into a trap. Or into the stocks.

Anyone who cares about Norwegian culture will vomit Morrissey from their borders. He is a tiresome troll parasite and all tasteful and elegant denizens of Oslo should line up to hurl tattered paperbacks of Knut Hamsun at his limousine.

Ragnorok in Jorvik, Yorkshire, Feb 2014: next time he shows his sorry arse there or in Valhalla-on-Tyne, a similar response is in order. Assuming the Viking Apocakalypse doesn't turn up....the idea that this flaccid flaneur knows anything about Anglo-Nordic culture is as risible as his claim to being an 'animal rights' activist whilst hiring voiceover has-been actors who bend and spread for McDonalds.

moar lulz, purleez!

BrummieBoy in Bergen

The other artists should boycott.

The other artists should boycott the event if Morrissey is allowed through passport control.

I'm not aware of Morrissey's 'militant veganism', just delusional Dairy Queen posturing before torture/slaughter video porn footage that provides the milk and cheese he's addicted to: unless he's 'woken up' after 45 years of delusionality.

Sweatshirt? Straight-jacket, more likely. I'm sure if they sew 2 together you might squeeze in. Oh, not you're going to do the fat bitch in a strop thing becuz you made jokes about dying children but no-one can call you out as a mentally and ethically obese slob like your cult leader? Yeah, right, that's going to work.

Whatever the case, really hoping he still performs.

So am I, as it will be more proof of his socipathic lack of empathy towards the grieving family and friends of those who died. Unless, he, y'know, finds some basic human decency in his sordid little life and...apologises.

I am actually somewhat curious and I mean this sincerely--did anyone in Norway actually care about Morrissey before the media made a big deal about this? I am not questioning the sincerity of people's outrage I am just wondering was this previously a big issue in Norway? Like is Morrissey a big deal there and therefore comments he makes would get major media attention? Or did somebody bring this up after he was selected to play at the concert and thus the controversy began?

He's a prat and has walked into a trap. It's hilarious.

Brummie, I just went shopping and was listening to your gal Sharin' and she said Morrissey has nothing to worry about regarding Norway or attention-seeking mayors or Barnes Enable award ceremonies or anything. So you just keep blowin' smoke up everyone's ass and stir the shit so you can see yourself in the mirror and we'll just smile and nod like what you say is interesting and get on with the show. :thumb:

This is the least elegant approach but at the end of the day, people are thinking about KFC. Actually they're displacing their gripeyness by talking about Morrissey, but he's taking one for the "Let's discuss factory farming.' team. So really...he's winning.

He's 'winning' with morally flaccid-obese fag hag casualties like you, but 'consensual reality' is mocking and LOL-ing at his gormless stupidity. He eats torture/slaughter dairy. That's factory farming, didn't you realise?

This is so wrong. It would be understandable if Morrissey wasn't invited due to his prior comments, but since he was he should be treated the same as any other artist. Morrissey is there to pay tribute to the peace prize winner and get some exposure the same as anyone else.

I realize the mayor didn't pick Morrissey but he should respect the decision of the Nobel committee.

Is the mayor trying to taunt Morrissey into canceling?!?

f*** the Nobel committee who handed war-monger Caesar Prez Obama a gong. f*** Morrissey. Morrissey is there to pay tribute to his own socipathy. He is a troll and the 'exposure' he needs is to be loft with a tent and bottled water for a week's walk down from the top of a fjord in December.

I really hope that the right thing is done, and he is uninvited--or that he does the right thing an pulls himself out. If he has any dignity, which I doubt nowadays, he should grow a set and man up.

He is not about peace--unless it caters to his needs or beliefs, and if you are not under the same umbrella of thinking, then you are a hater or a bore, or something else. And the sadder thing is that the lemmings who believe every word that Morrissey says is truthful and completely words to live by will blindly follow him.

The rope around your neck is tightening. You put it there. There's a trapdoor beneath you with the word "Morrissey" on it. You have a choice: save your life or go down with the Troll Titanic. It probably only matters to you. Choose your fate. Don't interrupt me again.

I think I found a new title for my business card. :sweet: Obese one fagobi...you're my only hope.

Can I just just add that being judged morally by a politician is the equivalent of being told that someone is stupid or smart by the idiotic intelligence police of solo? Politicians have dirty, dirty hands. ALL of them. They'll use any platform to make themselves look better, even if it means dragging this up to look morally superior. Morrissey needs to just fly to Norway, go on stage, be cool as a cucumber, sing his songs, banter about love like he does, bow and smile and fly home for Christmas with his family. Easy. As my boss would say, "No worries. People are generally very stupid."

Yes. I think he knows this. I hope.
I am really looking forward to this. If all goes well, and hopefully Morrissey holds his head high and doesn't fire back, this could be a major step back on track...and towards a tour and/or album.

As if it takes any "taunting" for Morrissey to cancel! :lbf:

Unfortunatly, this is true :o

My cancellation wounds have healed once again and all is forgiven...Oh well, I'll never learn :p

Somehow , we all knew it was a bit strange, Morrissey singing at the Nobel prize

Free Speech is a right, after reading Morrissey's well known outbursts into this cruel world,
he somehwhere mentioned what Psychopath Breivik did, me thinks anyone must suffer who has a different
point of viuew...research has allready found out, that it was the police own fault that Breivik could escape to Utoya
and made one of most horrific crimes in History

Norway is mourning about the [or is it Sweden whatever, it's his beloved Scandinaia, have they checked that?,that every tour he visits Scandinavia.

Morrissey's known for his free speech, but cancelling him is childish, he's a singer, not Breivik or has nothing to do
with that drama, is everyone who didn't write a condoleances not welcome ? seems they were looking for the stick after
lots had written to the Nobel Prize that Morrissey was not fitting in the line up

I hope He strikes back next year with a wonderfull album, and me thinks if He's touring, 1 country , or 2 and a city
are not in the tourschedule.

'and they say he's mentall'... Osolomio..

What the f***? This is just absurd.

Killing 70 teenagers IS nothing compared to torturing 60 billion animals on factory farms. You don't have to be a vegetarian to admit this.

I think that the reason people are (pretending to be?) so 'hurt' by Morrissey's comments is simply that to admit he was right would be admitting that WE, the Good People, are taking part in something unbearably twisted and cruel.

And yes, I'm Norwegian.

'even though his job is to sing, not talk' oh lawwwwwwd. that is brutal

media gonna media

moz pls, don't cancel :o

"His job is to sing, not to talk!" Excuse me? And that's coming from someone who is part of the Nobel Peace Prize? Well, that's is not what I would call democracy and peace making. I also find quite disgusting they decided to have a meeting to talk about Morrissey presence at the NPP with out giving him the chance to attend and talk by himself. The NPP is like everything else... A business!!! Do they really care about what they do? If they think Morrissey's comments at the time where a bit to much (I do not think so), wouldn't be a way of making peace to let him sing at the NPP?

Morrissey has dirty hands too. That's apparent from reading his book. He's no innocent.

It isn't that difficult to appear morally superior to someone who says "We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown. But that's nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Shit every day."

We are well used to his stupid comments on a range of issues, but most decent people would probably draw the line at the stupid and wicked, as exhibited by his Norway statement. He could have put it far better, he could even have been civilised enough to wait until after the funerals, but his idiot mouth couldn't match his sociopathic brain's desire for more press coverage. It's the "that's nothing" that really does the damage. It turns something ridiculous into something evil.

Morrissey will probably still go. It isn't as if he has anything else to do.

At some point in the next eighteen months he'll also have to decide what to do about the Kimmel/Duck Dynasty self-created f*** up too. If he indeed has a new album he might have to repair the damage done to relations with a show which has always supported him in the USA.

Kimmel would be well within his rights to tell him to get stuffed, leaving Morrissey with a clear schedule to appear on Garrison Keillor.
