Morrissey statement on Manchester Attack - Morrissey Official Facebook

Text:

Celebrating my birthday in Manchester as news of the Manchester Arena bomb broke. The anger is monumental.
For what reason will this ever stop?

Theresa May says such attacks "will not break us", but her own life is lived in a bullet-proof bubble, and she evidently does not need to identify any young people today in Manchester morgues. Also, "will not break us" means that the tragedy will not break her, or her policies on immigration. The young people of Manchester are already broken - thanks all the same, Theresa. Sadiq Khan says "London is united with Manchester", but he does not condemn Islamic State - who have claimed responsibility for the bomb. The Queen receives absurd praise for her 'strong words' against the attack, yet she does not cancel today's garden party at Buckingham Palace - for which no criticism is allowed in the Britain of free press. Manchester mayor Andy Burnham says the attack is the work of an "extremist". An extreme what? An extreme rabbit?
In modern Britain everyone seems petrified to officially say what we all say in private. Politicians tell us they are unafraid, but they are never the victims. How easy to be unafraid when one is protected from the line of fire. The people have no such protections.

He should have kept it simple and just expressed sadness and sympathy for the families that have been destroyed forever, instead of digs at the PM etc. The 'extreme rabbit' comment is stupid and not appropriate. I get that he is angry and he made some valid points but he should be more sensitive at a time like this.

Why don't you start, Morrissey, by admitting you hate Muslims? Get it off your chest, lad - it'll do you good.

I know that this is a fake statement and insensitive in parts, but some of it is true. I do not think for one minute that all Muslims are terrorists as that is a stupid notion, it's just unfortunate that all terrorists recently seem to be Muslims and people look into the wrong end of the telescope and seem to blame them all for stuff like this.

Why should he have "kept it simple" when the deed was so cruel? He always states the same things, it's not the first time.
He has a public voice -something that most people don't have- and he doesn't believe in easy outcomes.
That's the question of the moment: extremist what? extremist who? It's not a noun, it's an adjective. Governing people, put a name on it and assume your liabilities.

I totally agree with him. The Queen, PM, it's almost" insert tragedy here" for each statement. Do they really care?

Immigration should be controlled, you can't allow millions of people enter ANY country without knowing how they will survive. Immigration is greatly controlled in US, South Africa,Japan, etc.

I don't think this tragedy is a suitable vehicle for Moz to have a mini rant. I'm not disagreeing with him. I was expecting way worse, to be honest.

It's officially a "f*** you Morrissey" from me. I've given him too many chances, but this is the nail in the proverbial coffin. I'm checking out. You lot can have him.

As bad as this is, he did better than Rifke who literally laughed at the kids dying :\

Didn't that terrorist who tried storming Parliament got within a few feet of her?

Moz is looking more and more like Al Bundy with every year passing.

Morrissey, Katie Hopkins, Marie Le Pen and Nigel Farage should join forces and form a band - or at least release a one-off charity single. They are clearly on the same wavelength.

Wow, Morrissey your a f***ing asshole instead feeling emotions and sympathy for these people you rather make your statement about yourself and your own political views. These were young kids not old enough to care about politics who were there to have a great time and this evil tragedy happens and all you can talk about is someone else's comments and political views, and you go and turn it around and use it for your own personal agenda to take jabs at people in office and at the queen, talk about an opportunist, if you don't have anything encouraging or sympathetic to say to these people who suffered this hideous attack then shut the f*** up.

It appears to be contagious...

He wasn't in Manchester for his birthday. He was home in LA. The FB page is supposedly a fake.

Is it just me but the whole mood and wording of this statement is fake. Would Morrissey begin a statement announcing that he was celebrating his birthday? Come on folks. Read it and imagine Morrissey saying it. The choice of words, the entire structure of it?? Theresa May and her immigration policies??? What does that mean? I also doubt that he was even in Manchester. Surely we have all read enough Morrissey interviews to know that this is not he. Come on David T. Are you not feeling a little regretful for posting this?

If it is real then i give up. If Morrissey is resorting to Fakebook then he must have a degenerative brain disorder. Having followed M for over 30 years.......you get a sense of his articulation and lexicon. I notice this statement wasn't mentioned in the Manchester Evening News. They couldn't verify it. We still wait for confirmation the statement came from him but that statement really hits home what it is all about and the politicians and those all for immigration live far away from the problems their decisions create.

Socialists will never admit their mistakes for they are people who sometime in their life started to nurture this notion that all is well as long as nothing happens to them. Ordinary people die and their remains are sweeped up and then they are forgotten and the madness just goes on as if nothing happened.

The funny part is that socialists don't realise they are the sheep of globalism and all the things they stand for they are working against without seeming able to realise that.

Moz will slam the NHS next and tell the brits they paid for things a thousand times over without getting much back.

Nice. Maybe 'Lil Sammy can knock up a photomontage of Sadiq Khan blowing up Manchester Arena whilst he's at it?
