Morrissey's suit (from 2007 Hollywood Bowl) may be for sale soon

From Tim:

I went to a party last week at the house of a friend of a friend. Hanging in his living room is the suit worn by Morrissey at The Hollywood Bowl in 2007. I had a quick chat with the guy and he mentioned that he was going to be selling it this year as he is moving house. I asked if he minded me taking a few photos and sharing them and he told me that was ok. Enjoy!

question: it said from HB 2007, but it was signed in 2009. Why the different date? Did he take him the jacket 2 years later to sign?

Incredibly sad news from Manchester. Aside from Morrissey, there is now no-one left. In every sense.
You’re taking the piss, right? Plenty of excellent talent around that area. Morrissey is NOT among them. If you actually believe this bullshit you just posted... You are lost.

My guess would be that it was later packaged and donated for a charity cause, like PETA.
...in which case, it ain’t worth shit. Not unless it’s covered in Morrissey’s (sorry - pig’s) blood.

f*** PETA. The whole lot are a bunch of hypocritical savages.

"WTF does "moving house" mean"

It usually involves the sale of a house and the purchase of another one. It can also mean changing location when a lease expires on a property. Hope this helps.

Anyone who's been a Morrissey fan for 10 years or more should know this is the genuine article. He wore the suit at The Hollywood Bowl concert 2007 which should have been released on DVD. I believe that Morrissey was unhappy with the final edit so it was never released. The suit was designed and made by Gucci for the occasion. The suit was always going to be auctioned with the proceeds going to PETA. My guess would be that the plan was to sell it at the same time as the DVD release. Morrissey signed the suit after the auction ended and it would probably have been shipped without the display cabinet. I looked at this suit when it was first put up for auction but I couldn't afford to bid at the time. It's difficult to put a value on this but it's a unique piece of memorabilia. A bespoke suit made by Gucci alone would cost a small fortune, add to that the history behind it and that it is signed by Morrissey and you're looking at a serious investment. My advice would be to sell it to The Hard Rock (as suggested in a previous thread) or to sell it at a specialist auction. Thanks for sharing the pictures and try to ignore the disrespectful comments. Unfortunately it's pretty much par for the course on this site.

It was auctioned for Farm Sanctuary back in December 2009, cannot recall the winning bid. A pretty penny, í'm sure.

The schmutter was from Gucci's, or 'Gucci' if you're that way inclined, Spring/Summer 2007 collection ~

~ so it wasn't "Designed by 'Gucci' for Morrissey". Morrissey bought it in a 'Gucci' shop.
In fact, he also wore the Gucci shirt that the child in the picture above is wearing for part of the Hollywood Bowl concert.

Here is the suit free of frame ~

It's not a bespoke suite for the occasion. Though I'm sure Moz had it tailored. ;)

Seriously. Do you think everyone has lived in a cave?

anyone have an idea what it previously went for? Maybe he’s selling it to buy a bigger house hence the move.

Gucci: real fur and leather bags and couture. Nice one Morrissey.
