Rank the 12 Morrissey studio albums

Ha! But if you happen to die first, I promise I will go to your funeral with Robert Smith... And I will make sure that he gives a proper speech about you, her most loyal fan... And then he will offer an a capella version of Bananafishbones, stating that it's the song that you loved the most.

4. Yer Arse N’All
5. Vauxhall
6. World Peace
7. YoR

9. LIHS
10. Maladjusted

12. CS (This money grabbing POS shouldn’t count IMO).

Things to note: I was 17 when YATQ came out and it was my Morrissey baptism, followed by VH. Those two are practically interchangeable to me at 1/2.

World Peace is, IMO criminally underrated. Istanbul, bullfighter, kiss me alot, art hounds and smiler with knife are great cuts among fairly few duds.

And that’s the thing. Most Moz albums are one or two gems surrounded by fertiliser. Take my number 4 placed record. Great songs like seasick, we’ll let you know and tomorrow but interspersed with shite like ‘fatty’ and the so bland it says nothing ‘certain people I know’.

Southpaw has reader meet author, the title track (those lyrics! I dream of this as an epic outro for his farewell tour whenever that may be) and even the operation, which is great once it actually begins! But too much filler for me. The lower you go on my list, the more the filler replaces the gems IMO and the more the lyrics to songs mean less to me.

I like California Son mainly for Moz's vocals. It's a nice stopgap release before his next proper album.

So I’m gonna add the two b sides albums cause I play them so much

-Bona drag
-World peace is none of your business
-Swords
-You are the quarry
-Your arsenal
-Maladjusted (reissue)
-Years of refusal
-Ringleader of the tormentors
-low in high school
-Vauxhall and I
-Viva hate
-Kill uncle (reissue)
-Southpaw grammar (reissues is the only reason I own it. Mostly just for honey you know where to find me)

I can’t rate California son as it’s just to hard to judge them against his original work. It’s a very good collection of songs and he sings all of them well but it doesn’t feel like a Morrissey album to me. At least not 100%

I have not received California Son yet, so I only rank 11 of them and I will edit my post later - I never hesitate about the first and the two lasts of the ranking.

Vauxhall and I
World Peace is None of Your Business
Viva Hate
You are the Quarry
Your Arsenal
California Son
Kill Uncle
Years of Refusal
Ringleader of the Tormentors
Low in High School
Southpaw Grammar
Maladjusted

How come Bona Drag isn’t allowed on these things?
Because 2 songs were on a different album, or it was a quasi greatest hits, combo of the two or something else?

I was 13 when it came out so I wasn’t hip to tunes released as singles but once I got the album I listened to it A LOT.

So it’s my favorite.
