Reason Moz is so lively on stage in the recent shows...?

I assumed from his amped performance that he was on coke. I felt even surer of this when I saw Dina Lohan lingering by the stage.

maybe that's why he did Interesting Drug at those shows? You never know... but I prefer to think that that video of The Loop was on Full Moon night... they say that is an energy some are quite sensitive to and Moz seems to be that type (to me)...

Full Moon energy where the word LUNATIC comes from... It can give quite a bit of energy - physically, energetically, spiritually - they say intuition is heightened if awareness is there. This is the reason for Zazen in the full moon - etc. (this energy can be used for meditation; hence buddha's enlightenment on the full moon night and all the Zen poems about the full moon etc etc.)

I have heard that full moon can also heighten sexual energy etc etc. Or so they say - and in my experience. Without awareness it can lead to violence (that big fight outside the lobby that night ((not the best idea to drink too much that night))) and statistics prove it. With awareness it can be magical and energetic in a good way... That 26th a magical night indeed! Moz was incredible and super beautiful that night. Best show I have ever seen... hands down.

When I am finally a working architect (the ultimate goal, though admittedly very far off) and I see someone truly appreciating my work, I know it's going to be a breathtaking experience.

how many careers do you want?!

seriously, though, good for you.

Seventeen.

Ok. eighteen.

:p

(Hey, HIM, the chemist thing which I invested all my wittle college years on didn't work out because I didn't want to test amino acids on itty bitty bunnies (true story). I hate being a lifeless numbers drone, which I do now. I've wanted to be an architect since I was a wee one, but I ended up getting into the chemistry program at a prestigious university [which I hated, ha]. I got an 'in' in this umpire school in florida, but, if the gods of MLB hate me, I am going for the architect thing. which I was going to do after retiring as an ump, anyway. :p HIM, you are going to be my official biographer. I want no arguments about this!)

ha ha, awesome :D (dina lohan, as if! what's left of her brain would inevitably go into meltdown.)(note to everyone: you do realize Worm's post here is dripping with sarcasm, right? :p)

I dont think it has anything to do with Kristeen leaving. He was dancing his ass off to "The Loop" on Monday and Tuesday, when she was still on.

I honestly just think he's having a great time in general. He can tell the fans love him, he loves us back, his band rules, and goddamn, that song is a bootyshaker.

Boz has been having a blast too, it seems. The looks he gets on his face while playing are hilarious and awesome, and he's been goofing off more than ever, and rocking out while doing it!

That clip is superb! Moz obviously loves this song..

I am getting more jealous of you american guys by the day...... I cant believe the variety of songs you lot have had on this tour.

When we were lucky enough to have him in the UK we had 7/8 ROTT songs in the Set, throw in 5 Smiths sons and that sometimes only left room for 5/6Moz songs of which FOTGTD,IBEH and LMKY were in every set. We were lucky to get 2/3 Moz solo songs - National Front Disco and Disappointed being the highlights.

You guys have had Playboys, Sister, The Loop, WDYFOFY, Interesting Drug (Which I did't think he would ever play live again), Jack the Ripper, Lucky Lisp, Billy Budd Etc...........

Captain Tractor teases us with news of a possible UK tour in January but no official news......

Come back to the UK with this set Moz .......PLEASE

I have to say that watching Mozza whack that tambourine during "The Loop" recently has been absolutely thrilling. Tuesday at the Hammerstein, the way he was moving, I thought I was going to burst into flames! :D

I wish I knew what has gotten into him (or vice-versa). All I can say is it's nothing short of inspirational. To echo another thread - it's Morrissey's strength that is really showing through these days. Who would have thought that 48 would look so good? Truly, he seems to be happier on stage than anyone else I've seen, young or old - it's uncanny, and it's beautiful.

I think he meant it when he said that he is only fully alive in front of his audience. It is a terribly romantic and tragic notion that we are all benefitting from.

I want to see a picture of this new slim Moz. I`ve looked but they are all from a distance.

Evidence please.:)

Every tour people say he's slimmed down but he always looks exactly the same to me. A bit overweight but In OK shape for a man of his age. He should be like a twig by now if he'd lost weight every time people said he had.

I just showed my husband that video and he said..."Oh...thats a classic bit of DAD-DANCING if ever I saw it!"

i think he likes to dance with a tambourine. not always guaranteed, but i've seen him dance recently. overall i thought when i saw him in Royal Oak and Ann Arbor he looked to be of the late 90s moz, and not the moz we had a few years ago.

compare this to the The Loop clip on youtube from LA...he has no tambourine and so he just stands there.

also, perhaps the NYC is more energetic because he has to impress his idols (NY Dolls), label executives, media, etc. And New Yorkers are brutal if you don't please them. ;)

Oooh, deffo, this is why i have not and will not show it to my boyf, comments about 'gay' dancing would abound. i'll just savour it myself a few times each day. ;)

Watching video clips such as this excellent one that captures "The Loop" at the Hammerstein, it seems Moz has jolted out of his more lounge-like persona and gone back to his rocking, casual, hip swaying self of the Your Arsenal era (and further back). Someone even posted a "fountain of youth" thread.

When you think back to him being carried out on stage like a corpse in London, 2002, it seems like he's got a new lease on life.

What do you think it is?:

- Casual clothes = looser stage persona

- The tour is coming to an end (?), so Moz is giving it his all

- The band has got him really pumped up lately / Combination of songs on the set list

- Kristeen is gone (sorry, just for discussion purposes)

- He's got a great record deal.

- Moz is happy about something else going on offstage...!

ecstacy and viagra

I still remember the initial shock after having seen Moz on the 1995 Boxers tour how he'd suddenly aged. Before that he used to throw himself all around the stage like a maniac, now he was suddenly mostly standing still and occasionally whipping the microphone cord instead. Before and after 1995 is a clear defining line for me regarding the live performances. If anything his voice is better now, as he isn't all over the stage, but seeing him gyrating on 'The Loop' was a nice flashback to the 91 & 92 tours. Thing was, he used to be like that on EVERY song, but everyone gets older.

How will he vent this pent up energy once the tour is over.?.....he`s going to be all frisky and as far as i know noone to be frisky with.:p

he will deal with his friskies by touring some more...

i think he's on tour to let the record labels know he's still out there.

but i think as far as actually enjoying himself, you have to imagine how excited he is to have a really good band after all these years.

no offense to the Gary and Alain fans, but it was up to the Americans to bring the rock.
