Song Of The Day

Echo & The Bunnymen's cover of Lou Reed's: "Heroin"

(it's on the album Crystal Days 1979-1999, Disc 4, Track 16)

At the beginning, you hear the crowd cheering and Ian goes, "Uh, this is one of the first songs we ever wrote...")

Classic. Love them guys.

Ett Fall Och En Lösning
by Bob Hund

The lyric translated in English:

The girls are gone
I'm uninspired
my living at night
makes my skin get rashes
everything points at a social infection
a fun little night doesn't change my situation
My mother threw me out to get an answer
She just wanted to show what bad style I have
I get so pissed off that I always have to lose
Midnight get going, then I'll take all drunkness

Need no cure
need nothing
need nothing but
a case and a solution

be me a ticket to the fastest: one portion
and throw in a bang of atomic bomb explosion
seems to be a victim
a natural selection
meet me on the other side different direction

chorus

a solution
I need a solution
so come and give me a
solution.............

a solution x4

That's a good song, Chartres:) Originally it's Pere Ubu's..

Song of the day...:

Janis Joplin
Trust me
Trust in me, baby, give me time, gimme time, um gimme time.
I heard somebody say, oh, “The older the grape,
Sweeter the wine, sweeter the wine.”

Oh, my love is like a seed, baby, just needs time to grow,
It’s growing stronger day by day, yeah,
That’s the price you’ve got to pay.

Trust in me, baby, give me time, gimme time, please, a little more time.
Takes a road runner just a little bit uh-longer, dear,
Oh, to make up my mind, I gotta make up my mind.
Oh, my love is like a seed, baby, just needs time to grow,
It’s growing stronger day by day,
That’s the price that we both got to pay.

I gotta know, know that I’m ready, oh ready to settle down,
‘Cause I think too much of your loving, baby,
Yeah, I don’t wanna mess your life around!

So if you love me like you tell me that you’re doing, dear,
You shouldn’t mind paying the price, any price, any price.
Love is supposed to be that special kind of thing,
Make anybody want to sacrifice.
Oh, my love is like a seed, baby, just needs time to grow,
It’s growing stronger day by day,
That’s the price we both gotta pay.

Trust in me baby, trust in me baby,
Trust in my love, in my heart.
Keep the faith, baby, keep the faith in me, dear, in my love.
Don’t turn your face away from me, dear, oh you leave a lost girl,
Oh, don’t turn your love away, no no no no no no no,
You gotta believe in me, baby, yeah, trust me dear, oh...

Well what a pleasant resurrection. Will have to find a great song till tomorrow.
:)

Mine is:

'Just a Few Things That I ain't'
by The Beautiful South

If I had two heads, I'd give one away to write lyrics like Paul Heaton does.

When you called me a useless druggie
At least you got half of it right
When you called me a hopeless alcoholic
I'm only hopeless after nine at night
And when I said you came staggering home blind drunk
If I didn't you'd get terrible fright
And if this is the land of hope and glory
Where's the land of hope but not quite

I've been scruff bag, dirt bag, always someones binbag
But never been bono or sting
However I dressed never really impressed
So they never got to hear a damn thing
I've been bad man sad man certified mad
But never 007 or saint
Trendsetter go getter international jet setter
Are just a few things that I ain't

The time you told class I was a half wit
Was my very first 50 %
Previous best in any other test
Was either stolen copied or lent
And when you branded me and every single one of my mates
A waste of time and effort to teach
Why d'you give us sums if our only hope was bums
On someone else's deckchair and beach

I've been smart arse, mardy arse, on and off a lard arse
But never been a legend to god
New thing dumb thing even last year's thing
Headbang? - not even a nod!
I've been left-wing, secure-wing, lost stripes, gained winged
We've never caused a lady to faint
Wideboy, ladyboy, read it in the paper boy
A few things they said that I ain't

When popularity soared, hometown and abroad
I spent most of it trying to breathe in
Always ill at ease, too willing to please
An inferior life's bargain bin
When you come from a background of bargain bins
You're bound to fear it ends where it begins
So when nation adored we felt more of a fraud
And too phoney to celebrate wins

I've been scruffbag, dirtbag, always someones binbag
But never been Bono or Sting
However I dressed never really impressed
So they never got to hear a damn thing
I've been badman, sadman, certified mad
But never 007 or Saint
Trend-setter, go-getter, international jet-setter
Are just a few things that I ain't

My song for the day is Crazy Nights by Kiss :D

Maybe it unethical to recommend people you know but still, it's their first real album plus I was surprised how good it is (although they're even better live). So, in celebration of their European tour that just ended in Gothenburg yesterday;

Affordable Hybrid - The Crash

If you like At The Drive-In you'll certainly like these as well.
