Have you ever noticed how the beginning of The Commodore's Nightshift is virtually identical to the beginning of Break Up The Family?

I'll get me coat,

I had not noticed. I will give it a listen. I was though around the family's the other night and someone was playing a song called Vietnam and it sounded just like Shoplifters, I can't remember the group- can anyone help?
If I find out I will share it.

Sorry Peter, but I don't find those two songs' intro parts are identical.

The initial piano intro to 'I've Changed My Plea To Guilty' always reminds me of the beginning of 'Rock 'n' Roll Suicide'. Also, the intro to 'I Will See You In Far-Off Places' is very similar to the intro of 'Thrillseeker' by The Divine Comedy.

I love Thrillseeker. The whole album is top.

Code blue by T.S.O.L. reminds me of Girl least likely to. The intro of Spark by the church reminds me of the intro to Sunny.

I can hear it too. Don't think it was intentional though, possibly Stephen Street might have been a fan back in the day.

I'm loving the tight perm action of the commodores. Might be due a comeback in 2011?

Came across this below whilst listening to the divine comedy track. Of course it was probably on a thread a while back, but I quite like the slower arrangement.

- can anyone get my youtube video to be embedded? I can't.... maybe I'm thick.

If you like Commodores you should watch a French film '35 Shots of Rhums' directed by Claire Denis.
Nightshift is used in the film effectively.

Girl Least Likely To was copied almost entirely from The Cookies "Only to other people", although Andy doesn't seem to recall this.

Tight Perm Action is a great name for a band.
