Southpaw Grammar/Maladjusted reissues

I'm looking forward to both these reissues. Two great, very underrated albums. The only think I dislike about Maladjusted is the artwork. Southpaw is just perfect.

everything about the real southpaw is boss. throw an obi strip down the side and it looks even better:o

The 12" Southpaw Grammar is even f***ing better, with the booklet with the pictures of the Moz. Surely you kept your Southpaw LP beast?
P.S. that Japanese Southpaw Grammar promo cassette I bought is mint as well. I played the first few seconds of 'Teachers Are Afraid of the Pupils' then turned it off. I'm scared my cassette player will chew it up.

what do you mean? we don't usually disagree:(

No disagreement, just haven't got the Japanese Southpaw so I might be a little jealous. I bet this is when you tell me it was one of the items you sold.

Well, according to http://true-to-you.net/morrissey_news_081001_01, Southpaw Grammar is out on Monday. Am I being dim in missing any updates? Has anyone seen it for sale anywhere, on any sites?

Peter

I only saw http://hmv.co.jp advertising reissue of Southpaw Grammer which will be on sale 3rd February 2009.
However, in its site tracklisting and the sleeve aren't updated.

Hopefully TTY or some other credible source will confirm both Southpaw and Maladjusted updated reissue info.

The January release date was changed a long time ago. TTY made a later announcement where they said that the SG reissue would be out a week after YOR, which had a release date of Feb. 23rd at that time. Therefore, March 2nd became the new release date. It also stated that the Maladjusted reissue would be out on the same day, but that may have changed by now.

OK, so I decided to do a little digging and to complicate matters further, I looked at Play.com and they are showing a release date of April 20th for SG.

I haven't seen any changes in the date of the US release, however. And I think the fact that the pre-order links for the US release don't have the updated cover and tracklisting is just symptomatic of pre-order links in general. They often don't have the correct info until right before the release.

Be a bit careful of MusicWow, vAndreav. They're cheap, but when I pre-ordered the recent James album, they declared it out of stock on the release date, then ignored my request for a refund and sent it (late) anyway. When I received the CD, it wasn't the edition illustrated. I'd be reluctant to use them again.

I haven't bought CDs from play.com, but you'd better not use musicwow.com.

Re: Malajusted and Southpaw

i like them both. if i had to choose though it would be southpaw.

I have a bit of bad news about SG. I wrote an e-mail to Rhino records to find out more details about the US release that I had found on Amazon and it turns out that it's just a straight reissue rather than a remaster with extra tracks.

It looks like SG is out of print in the US (which I was unaware of) so I guess that's why this no-frills reissue is happening here. Why they aren't going to go ahead and release the upgraded version is beyond me.

So I guess anyone in the states who wants this will have to import it.
