STUART MACONIE

Stuart Maconie hosts BBC Radio 6 Music’s weekend breakfast show with Mark Radcliffe and also The Freak Zone on the station. As a music journalist, he wrote for magazines such as Q, Mojo and the NME. He also contributed to Select magazine, in which he coined the word Britpop in its April 1993 issue. Stuart’s books include Cider with Roadies, about his music journalism career, Pies and Prejudice: In Search of the North and The Nanny State Made Me: A Story of Britain and How to Save It. He has also written official books on the bands Blur and James.

KEVIN CUMMINS

Kevin Cummins is among the world’s leading music photographers. He is best known for photographing many iconic bands, singers and musicians, such as The Smiths, Joy Division, David Bowie, Patti Smith, Madonna, Oasis and Sex Pistols. Much of his work was at the NME, where he was its chief photographer for 10 years. Kevin also contributed to magazines such as The Face and Manchester’s renowned what’s on guide, City Life. He has published many books featuring his photographs, including on the Manic Street Preachers, Morrissey and Britpop. More at kevincummins.co.uk

There’ll be a chance to buy copies of his new book at the event, Joy Division: Juvenes, which is a definitive collection of Kevin’s photographs of the band. He will also sign copies.
