The Drums debut album is now streaming on Myspace

Listening to it just now, I think I quite like it. :thumb:

album of year

just heard , well the whole day the debut album of

'the drums-the Drums'

listten to it at the dutch 'luisterpaal'on VPRO, '3-voor-12' website

gonna check monday if they release it the Netherlands

it sounds fresh, catchy, and just the bas and electric guitar, drums and
singer, maybe a 2nd artist, the band has been mentioned on the mainpage
asa newsitem if I'm correct [did Morrissey went to see them?]
[or was it Mike Joyce, and have the drums any connection with Mike, did
he play on a song, or is it just Morrissey never says his real name, but
'the drums'when talking about the aftershit when they split, laywer/liar etc.]

but seriously, check it out

:guitar:

thanks for the streaming part, but can't DL anything, well 1 song, which
you have to enter an valid emailadress, I'll look tomorrow if it arrived

thanks for moving

for Dutch and Belgium, they are on Lowland and a day before, one of the
best festivals, Pukkelpop near Hasselt [belgium] at [old] a airway plane aera
, it's a few miles from Hasselt beatifull and always nice little city to hang
around when you pass by, stop and take a walk to the centre, lovely food,
friendly people, a Burgundian sorta vibe, relaxed.
As the festival is too, but became too comercial, now with the overkill on
summerfestivals, I hope it's unique relaxed and great bands are back,
the drums on the billboard, that's 1 good reason to go

Re: album of year

really great band. seen them at a tiny club in glasgow in febuary and they played most of the album which sounded great. I thought it was a bit wierd that there was no bass player, it was two guitarists. the sumertime EP was also brilliant.

Re: album of year

I thought i wouldnt like them, the singers presence is really off putting. infact f*** it, hes annoying as f*** to look at. The album is amazing.

the singer was in another band Elkland. I heard them the other day was really impressed, quite electro pop driven. good none the less.

This is my fave from the album. Love the album, I'm just waiting for them to come and tour the States again.
The building front titled "Youth Social Group" in this video could be their version of Salford Lads Club. :D

The Drums are the best new band that i have heard for a long time, they have a unique sound IMO, and Johnny Pierce the lead singer is very original......but i feel they will be little more than a cult band and wont get the credit that they deserve

bumps.

am i the only one who doesn't get it?........ it's happy & bland.
we'll have to agree to disagree.

bleargh..

All style over substance mate. Very poor, very "music industry of the moment." A load of codswallop really. I've listened a couple of times and all I can think of is The Bravery........

Righteous band.
