TTY update 12/09/09: Swords release and tour info

Great film and superb score.:thumb:

Phillip Glass's music did seem exactly right for this emotionally-repressed mentally-agitated stylised drama. I've yet to peruse Mishima's doodles. I wonder if his action was any kind of rallying cry for Japan's awakening ultimately, or was he just being vainglorious.

As for Morrissey's new album, pen is to sword as a-side is to b-side: that'll do for me. I'm sure Morrissey is as usual unperturbed about how people want to interpret the title; whether related to sex, violence, verbal persuasion, sport, a town in north county Dublin, or whatever. He might tell us at the Stadium. :D

(p.s. What's GLAFY?)

Philip Glass' music is always exactly right for everything!:thumb:

Has Morrissey ever actually BEEN in Swords?!?!? He must have passed by it from the airport and seen the signs. Hmmm...

Here is a nice picture from Swords.

(p.s. What's GLAFY?)

An ancient Irish term of farewell. :)

Morrissey lived in a couple of different areas in Dublin and I'm sure he knows where Swords is and has passed through. I really doubt it's anything to do with the album name though.

The photograph is glorious. Did you take it? It has the look of a haunted site, somewhere you would probably feel just at home. :lbf:

GLAFY to you too ('y' words are pretty rare in Gaeilge, you know; I'm confounded...)

I'd be quite astonished if it had!

It is a lovely shot, but I'm afraid I can't take credit.:( Just the ol' Google image thing. I would love to haunt there, but, as far as I know, I haven't even died.

GLAFY is an acronym coined by a friend of mine. It means "Good Luck And F**k Ye". :) The kind of begrudging term of endearment we like to use on this strange little island.:lbf:

'Things I’ve heard and I’ve seen
And I’ve felt and I’ve been'...

...'And what's left for me'? - Swords!!

GLAFY :)
