    IANADOAC - singles?

There will probably be a deluxe version by the end of the year with the extra/left over tracks.

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

It’s such a shame he doesn’t have the same interest anymore. The way he used to plan and lay out the designs himself, it was clear that the Artwork was almost as important to him as the music that lay inside. I wonder what changed.

Is anyone else really disappointed with the artwork/packaging on both the CD and Vinyl. Really flimsy, especially the lyric sheets. And the grainy image especially on the vinyl is so bad. Of all the images he could have chosen, old or new why pick one with such low quality?

That actually makes much more sense than my ramblings.

IANADOAC - lyrics discussion thread (now with added lyrics!)

From the pictures I’ve seen online the lyrics are printed on the vinyl sleeve. I don’t have my copy yet.

Yeah I guess you’re right we all have those moments. There’s one quote that always sticks out, I think it was either in the Smiths days or early solo day. Moz was talking about his one and only experience with drugs. And while high, he looked in the mirror and for the first time he actually saw...

IANADOAC - lyrics discussion thread (now with added lyrics!)

‘Once I saw the river clean’ is probably my favourite song, lyrically. There’s a few lines I find interesting, “The queue will queue? for me’ a reference to his success/career? And “I grow easier on the eye” which I took as a reference to his good looks. Which I found interesting because we’re...

Darling, i hug a pillow is awful

Everytime he sings “thankfully” I think he’s going to sing something else ? Anyone else?

Darling, i hug a pillow is awful

As I said in another thread the only part that made me want to listen again was the part towards the end with Moz singing ‘oh darling I” I’m the background. Probably my least favourite track too. Filler/b-side quality.

Yeah i don’t know why he hasn’t released more Live albums. Solo wise we’ve only have ‘Beethoven was deaf’ and ‘Live at Earl’s Court’. I know there’s always the odd live b-side but it’s not the same as a whole gig.

The Secret of Music is the best Morrissey song I’ve ever heard

Agreed I like it a lot. The grove in the base is very hypnotic.

    Rank the tracks on IANADOAC

After multiple listens I actually really like ‘The secret of music’. I like the grove, I like the quirky lyrics. His voice sounds incredible. And there’s enough going on musically to keep me interested. But I can understand why a lot of fans won’t like it. It is very different and pretty much...

The only redeeming thing about ‘Darling, I hug a pillow’ is the ending part with Moz singing “ohh Darling I” otherwise I’d probably skip it. ‘The truth about Ruth’ has a lot more depth than I was expecting. I thought it was going to be another ‘In your lap’.

I actually agreed with all of this, especially what you say about the live versions vs studio for ‘Jim, Jim falls’ & ‘River clean’. Disappointing, but they’ll probably grow on me.
