VOB and MPEG files are the same thing. You just need to change the file extension.
If you're using Windows go to the Tools menu and choose Folder Options. Click the second tab, View. You need to untick the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types" and then when you use Windows Explorer the file will be called joebloggs.vob instead of joebloggs. You then just have to rename it joebloggs.mpg
