    Which is Morrissey's worst album cover?

    Can't choose between these three, all poor in different ways: "Southpaw grammar" = no Moz, bad idea. "Maladjusted" reissue = I hate the shades, the clothes and the pose. "Swords" = completely lacking in energy. The best cover of his solo career is "Everyday is like Sunday", hands down.

    I ought to love this album because it's from my favourite solo Moz era, the Magnificent Seven early singles. But while I think the singles and B-sides from the Viva Hate era are simply astonishing, the album itself leaves me cold.

    I wouldn't go that far (IMO "How Soon Is Now?" conquers all), but I do think "Ganglord" is the best Morrissey song since "Lost" and "Maladjusted".

    Get The Message is great, but Slow Emotion Replay (with The The) is my favourite of Marr's post-Smiths songs. Nothing But Flowers (with Talking Heads) is another fine one.
