favorite morrissey/smiths lyrics?

"Something in you caused me to
take a new tact with you
you were going through
something I had just about scraped through
why do you think I let you get away
with the things you say to me?
could it be I like you?
It's so shameful of me / I like you
No one I ever knew
or have spoken to resembles you
this is good or bad
all depending on my general mood
why do you think I let you get away
with all the things you say to me?
could it be I like you?
it's so shameful of me / I like you
Magistrates / who spend their lives
hiding their mistakes
they look at you and I / and
envy makes them cry
envy makes them cry
Forces of containment
they shove their fat faces into mine
but you and I just smile
because we're thinking the same lines
why do you think I let you get away
with all the things you say to me?
could it be I like you?
it's so shameful of me / I like you
because you're not right in the head
and nor am I / and this is why
you're not right in the head
and nor am I / and this is why
this is why I like you"

Pure class....This speaks volumes to me and i just adore it. It was one of the first songs i listened to and i was just blown away with his voice and his lyrics. So this is probably my all time favourite song. Today anyway:o

I love Slums Mums lyrically, especially the end
"Take you and your rat pack brood
to the long grass of the meadow
administer seven doses lethal and illegal
which may render you elsewhere"

^^^^^Yeah i love that song too.....(hence my username:D)

Way too many to count, but here's one:

And when you want to live
How do you start?
Where do you go?
Who do you need to know?

I'm sure there are more, but here are a few off the top of my head:
"Nature is a language, can't you read?"
"I smoke because I'm hoping for an early death and I need to cling to something"
And the entirety of "Tomorrow."

Friday mourning
I'm dressed in black
Douse the houselights
I'm not coming back
For years I warned you
Through tears I told you

(well more like "for yeeears I warned you)

"Christian Dior
You wasted your life
On grandeur and style
And making the poor rich smile"

mouth slack and wide
ill-housed and ill-advised
your face is as mean
as your life has been

And I've been shifting gears all of my life
but I'm still the same underneath
this you surely knew?

Dallow, Spicer, Pinkie, Cubitt
rush to danger
wind up nowhere

Patric Doonan - raised to wait
I'm tired again - I tried again, and
now my heart is full

The sanest days are mad
why don't you find out for yourself
then you'll see the price
very closely
some men here
they have a special interest
in your career
they wanna help you to grow
and then syphon all your dough

why don't you find out for yourself
then you'll see the glass
hidden in the grass
you'll never believe me, so
why don't you find out for yourself

"It's so easy for us to sit together, but it's so hard for our hearts to combine. And why?"

"It's my life to wreck my own way."

Ahhh without doubt my favourite lyric! :D

"Lets go where we're happy/wanted"

I am two people
One you know - but don't like
The other one
You don't know
But you don't want to
I have two faces
One of which you know
The other one for your sake
I never would show

i think about life and i think about death...and neither one particularly appeals to me

"I'd like to drop my trousers to the Queen
every sensible child will know what this means
the poor and the needy
are selfish and greedy on her terms"

"A double-bed
and a stalwart lover, for sure
these are the riches of the poor"

"But then you open your eyes
and you see someone
that you physically despise
but my heart is open
my heart is open to you"........ it seriously breaks my heart to hear that.

"Sheila take a, Sheila take a bow
Boot the grime of this world in in the crotch, dear "

I can seriously quote all day as a pass time.

And as I climb into an empty bed;
Oh well, enough said.
