Bitter Strawberries

Guest
I read an article the other day in which the author suggested that a pile of books by the bed was a substitute for a relationship.

I've heard this kind of thing before, they usually follow with "and you have cats instead of children"

I'd say a naked person in the bed with you every night was a substitute for a pile of books by the bed. No thinking, no developing as a fully- functioning individual, just a lot of touching and sighing.

Well I say goodbye to all that and a big smoochy hello to the written word.

Yes I am single at present

and bitter from too easily recalled lost passion

BAH!!!!

EEEEEmmm i know the feeling only 2 well ;0)

You should be bloody relieved you should! Not bitter...ok so you're bitter in your own right but I know that you know this is all a change for the double plus better.

I have several lovers, so consistent and always there. Plath never lets me down and I can hug myself...well I think I'm lovely AND I've got really nice riah!!

"A demon! A demon!"

Aye, but there's the rub: I happen to be of the (very troubling) mindset that, if someone doesn't think I'm lovely, then I don't FEEL lovely.

I know that's wrong, but I can't help it - for I am a woman scorned.

(a pre-emptive "ehhh, stuff it, jackmutt!" to greasetea for my typical Moz fan whining). :p

I am happy at all this misery

It makes me feel better and plus, it makes me feel simply happy happy hip hip hoppy happy and anoher thing Boz says he doesn't like his characterization of me which only makes me want to continue and continue and do it again but even though he is not like that.

Run on sentences are cool to the max jackasses!

I do hope you'll be kinder to the books ... they surely can't run away in case things turn bad. And don't get them out of their covers.

Re: See the problem lies in...

...all this wittering about feelings?!

You just go about being lovely and then convince yourself that you really believe this.

As to not 'feeling' it - what else do you think out right denial was invented for; hmmn?!

And isn't every woman scorned...I know I for one am just filled with scorn, right down to my lovely little toes! But how would life be without bitterness and contempt, mistrust, critisism and all those other delightfully familiar things??!! I for one would be at a loss...imagine going a whole week without crying like a sissy girl...*shudder*

Re: See the problem lies in...

There is something terribly morbid in the modern sympathy with pain. One should sympathize with the colour, the beauty, the joy of life. The less said about life's sores, the better. One should absorb the colour of life, but one should never remember its details. Details are always vulgar.

Sorry to interrupt - isn't the joy of life a detail? I fear it's not so that beauty and pain do not go hand in hand.

But your approach is very courageous. Thank you.
