Why is Morrissey loved so much?

Hard one this because it is the music that makes the hairs on the old neck stand up. When I listen to the music on Well I Wonder or the intro chords to That Joke Isn't Funny Any More I could cry. Even Morrissey said he heard great sadness in Marr's rolling chords. The words are an added bonus. I just think Morrissey is loved so much because of the honesty in his lyrics and in them he says something that everyone can relate to, simple as that really.
