Ah yes, it could have been another example of what Morrissey has warned about before. His new album is named after a song about victims of an islamic terrorist attack, and it turns out this politician was murdered by an islamic extremist. So commenting could raise awareness to the problems around immigration, radicalization and poor integration. But it’s better to sweep it under the rug so as to not be labelled as racist by the woke crowd, right? Remember that Morrissey is not a dog on a chain, he’s a dangerous free speaking artist, and eighter you get this, or eighter you don’t. Then maybe Justin Bieber is a better «artist» to listen to. It’s not «shit stirring», but important issues that should be discussed openly. There are nuances in this world, it’s not black and white. He's never been nice to me once, so I don't know how you'd get that impression.
I remember you shit stirring about immigration & wanting M to comment on the murder of David Amess etc.

Try writing in another language yourself. My grammar/vocabulary is bad, but my meaning/overall intention is good. So this is just unecessary hair-splitting and/or quibblery, I think I must say.He hasn't warned about the dangers of Islamic terrorism - he's picked over the details of a couple of murders, complained that authorities aren't doing enough to protect victims & got annoyed that he got flack for objecting to halal slaughter.

"…..in a hotel room in Manchester, having come down on the train yesterday. It’s a three night stay, the purpose of which is to catch up with a few folk for the first time in years, including Swiss Adam. There’s also a visit planned to the above building to take in what, by all accounts, is an excellent exhibition on the early years of Factory Records.
I did think about offering up a Factory band of some sorts today, but then I thought I’d go back to an old favourite. A band who haven’t been featured on the blog since ICA 150 back in December 2017. A band I no longer listen to at all, dating back to not long after that posting for very obvious reasons. And while I really miss the brilliance of their songs, it really is a point of principle. But, given that I am in their home city and the mode of transport used to get me here, and of course the very important fact that this song is an instrumental, I’ll enjoy this today:-
mp3: The Smiths – The Draize Train
A few folk I know have emptied their collection of the singles and albums by The Smiths as well as the material issued throughout the singer’s solo career. I haven’t quite been able to go that far.

I understand your reluctance to listen/play The Smiths because of certain……. well, you know. But I can look at the group as an entity and not just….. well, a certain…… saying……, you know. Actually I can listen to certain solo work too without it coming into focus. But only for short bursts. Then the CDs/vinyl go back on the shelf for a while.
Everyone is just a person - if you know him well, spill what he's been saying.

I wonder if their boycotting of Morrissey and his former band is due to genuine disdain for his (perceived) political views, or whether they're doing so simply because hating Morrissey is the 'in' thing at the moment which scores them social media brownie points?
Do they boycott Bowie for allegedly sleeping with underage girls?
Do they boycott Bill Wyman-era Stones records for his actual, well-documented relationship with Mandy Smith, beginning when she was 14 years old?
Do they refuse to watch films directed by Roman Polanski (look that one up for yourselves)?
Do they boycott listening to The Ramones due to Johnny's openly right wing political views?
Where does this end? Where does one draw the line?
You're missing the point Nerak, I see him maybe 3/4 times per year
but there are others who socialise with him regularly and will paint a picture that is very different to what some people on here will imagine (and not in a bad way) As I suggested earlier, do you ever imagine he may be watching the Atalanta/Man Utd game in Hale/Bowden Altrincham or LA tonight?
Name them all. Write a list. You'll come up with one name. This one. As the mods and David can confirm. This Nerak is probably one of Uncle Skinny’s troll accounts. We should just ignore it and move on
No, I just think it’s a peculiar hobby. Like Nikola Tesla, I can recognize an obsession when I see it, whether it’s based on love or hate. But of course people must be allowed to chose whatever forces they let themselves be controlled by.Name them all. Write a list. You'll come up with one name. This one. As the mods and David can confirm.
But you keep on believing I'm responsible for more than you think I am, because that's the only possible reason that others may share certain opinions, isn't it?
Like Morrissey was in the 70's?

THIS!!I do not think Morrissey is a racist at all. Saying that I have felt a little bit let down with some of the ways he`s chosen to express his views. I do understand he is very passionate about animal rights that`s one of the many things that I loved about him and still do. However I do think you can be a bit disappointed with someone you admire and still love them and very much appreciate the beautiful art they have created. And I still do listen to The Smiths and Morrissey`s solo work almost everyday and still love him. I believe that both of these things are possible.
