DALLAS Roll Call

I miss being unemployed. The best I can hope for is probably a 4pm arrival. Mr Tibbles, do you recall how long the line is typically around then? I'd be satisfied with a front row position -- don't really care whether or not it's center. I'm trying to remember how many people wide that standing zone is.

If memory (frankly, not what it used to be!) serves, the line wasn't too horrible until about 4:30 or 5. There were about 8-10 of us waiting as of 9 a.m., with steady but few additions until the afternoon. They did let people over 21 in around 6 or 6:15 so we could drink at the bar, and I do remember some late arrivals trying to rush up there and crowd in front of us all-day waiters, but it worked out okay. Of course, I think anyone who cares enough to post on this board should be allowed to cut in, but that may be frowned upon by others!

The standing zone is VERY wide - I was probably the 3rd or 4th person running in once the main hall doors were open, and I was able to station myself in the center without knocking anyone over. There were a lot of people in the front, I'd say maybe 30 or more.

I got his shirt collar in the melee, but was denied handshakes by someone who shoved my hand out of the way, so my main goal is to get a handshake this time! He roamed around and seemed to distribute handshakes equitably in the front row, so if I'm at the left side that'd be okay with me. It seems that people on the left side (our left, not Morrissey's) were the ones who got the setlist, guitar picks and other loot.

Hope to see you tomorrow! (I'm getting there early and will be wearing a light blue shirt with a cat on it by the name of Morrissey - I am truly a dork).
 
Well, crappity crap. My husband is off tomorrow for Good Friday, but I can't talk him into going with me. I asked if he didn't want to stand in line for 10 hours with me, and he replied, "I wouldn't stand that long in line for Mehdi Hassan!" (a renowned Pakistani ghazal singer). Some people just don't know what's fun!
 
I will be there early tomorrow. Will I have a problem getting to the front since they let 21 plus in to drink earlier? Doesn't seem fair since I'm 18 and it's my first show.

I could be wrong, but it seemed like they let everyone from the front of the line in, and there were certainly some kids in front of me who looked younger than 21. Again, I may be wrong. What time are you arriving? I'm gonna try to get there by 8, but I live in Valley Ranch and it's a bit of a hassle to get down there. Of course, tomorrow's Good Friday, so maybe the traffic will be lighter.
 
I'm desperately trying to get my non-solo Dallas friend to meet up with you guys. Or just to go to the show. He's not too keen on going alone. :(

I went alone in 2007 and I'm going alone tomorrow. I took a book last time and didn't even read it because I struck up conversations with people. I'll take a book or two tomorrow just in case, but don't expect to get much accomplished.
 
I will be attending with my room mate/ old friend to see this amazing show. We will be escorted by the infamous Crown Royal in our hearts to amplify the grace of Morrissey. :}
I checked that band touring with Morrissey and was not impressed what so ever.. pretty shatty to be exact, but hope it doesnt kill my buzz..
 
So I didn't sleep tonight because I was afraid my unusual and uncharacteristic habit of oversleeping every day this week would occur again. I'm using the logic that since I'll have 10 or so hours of free time, I can just sleep in line. I'M GOING TO GET READY NOW THANK YOU.
 
i believe they let both lines in at the same time

the bar line and the under 21 line

so being up front at the under 21 should be = to upfront at the bar line

the bar they let you into is seperate from the stage area

Blah. Not gonna get down there till prolly 5:30ish. If anyone is feeling generous enough to save a spot for my girlfriend and I on the front row or front of line I would be most grateful!! ;) I'll be wearing a black Ladytron shirt. Shot in the dark, I guess!

Dallas - The List

The precious list has caused drama here in Dallas all because the venue allowed entry into the bar area and access to the showroom before those outside. There was almost a fight, really a shouting match with someone not in the know of the list. Security was called and took the fan away. We are all passionate about Morrissey, otherwise we wouldn't even be reading these entries or driving long hours for an hour show. But people really: too much passion can make you an asshole. As plenty of the listers are being. Hope the show is worth the drama.

September... after I called you guys they opened the doors from the bar entrance and next thing I know I was sort of third row center. So I stayed there! It was pretty intense.

Let's stay in touch. Hopefully Moz will be back!
 
I talked with several people at the show but prior to this morning (the morning after) I have never been a Solo member, just someone who reads the forums.
It was nice talking with some of you!

Sweet! Glad you made it up there... We were wondering what happened to you. We were at the back part of the pit...not 3rd row but it was still good.... yep let's stay in touch... there are always other shows to go to :)
