IF YATQ and ROTT were 1 album...

Now that is a killer album. It reminds me of recent Oasis albums...if you combined the best songs, you have a classic record.

My personal feeling is YATQ is a better album, and te bsides are fantastic. I like 1/2 of ROTT, and none of the bsides. But I am not the biggest fan of the production...the songs are cool, but I do not go for the Vinscotti sound.

BUT - given that Moz loves the man, I am glad he followed his heart. At this point of his career, that is the best thing he can do...do it for himself.
 
Why can't people write out the names of songs? have we become that lazy?

I don't even remember half the YATQ songs, it's been two years or so since I've listened to that album

You left out Life is A Pigsty and Come Back To Camden?!?! In favour of obviously weaker songs like America, You Know I Couldn't Last, and To Me You Are a Work Of Art?

I agree with Puddle - please write the full titles of songs, or at least part of a title, it's quite tiresome having to read them like that.

I totally disagree. These are two completely different albums, and they should be appreciated on their own, for their merits and their weaknesses. No album is perfect. What you're looking for is basically a greatest hits collection.

(And for those who are having problems deciphering the list: America - Irish Blood - Jesus - I'm Not Sorry - First of the Gang - Dear God - You Have Killed Me - The Youngest - In The Future - The Father Who Must Be Killed - Work of Art - You Know I Couldn't Last. I don't agree with the song choices either...)

Although I think that ROTT is much a better album that YATQ which I honestly feel has been over hyped with it being the 'comeback' ablum when it's really Maladjusted Part II - not that that's a bad thing mind (I find Maladjusted very underrated), but I just don't think it's as good as good as a lot of people think it is. I also think ROTT flows better a complete work than YATQ does.

And I really don't get how people prefer Finn's tinny, lightweight production to the heavy Visconti sound, but that's completlely personal taste I guess.
 
It's a terrible idea to merge two different albums.
The best solution is to re-record Quarry with a better producer.
Jerry Finn killed the Quarry.:(
 
I just think the production on those two albums is too different for the songs to sit easily with each other. "You Are The Quarry" is so slick and plastic-y, whereas "Ringleader ..." sounds very organic. Personally, I think "Ringleader ..." is by far the superior album, but there you go.

I noticed on the poll last week about his best post-2000 release that Camden was his most consistent performer. No comment, just an interesting observation.

I have to say I never bought this view that YATQ is a better album, I thought it lacked impact at the time and still do. I also think 'Ringleader...' outstrips it on most levels (give or take a couple of songs)
