Mephedrone

Yes true. But you don't light up a Marlboro at eight in the evening that will kill you by eight the following morning.

Smoking by the way is the 'poster child' for why drugs should be legalised: It costs the NHS £5billion a year but smokers pay a total of £7billion in taxes a year.

They could tax drugs to the extent they've taxed everything else, then they might finally grow some balls & ban smoking outright.

But whether it kills you after 5 hours or 50 years...does that make a difference? People know the risks associated with both.

Interesting debate though. It's just a pity you can't "uninvent" stuff like heroin.

Sorry, I don't know anyone that's grown out of drinking.

That's not what I'm saying!!! It's the reasons behind drinking that change as we get older...sure I still like to get pissed once a week (at the grand old age of 23:thumb:) but now I drink for different reasons to what I did 10 years ago.

If I was still getting drinking cuz I thought it was cool because I wasn't meant to tee hee hee then there'd be something seriously wrong.

Diamorphine Hydrochloride ( heroin ) brings massive pain relief to terminal cancer patients, and considerable happiness in their latter days. Not sure what you mean by your comment.

It's when peoples' dependence on the drug drives them to prostitution and crime that I was referring to, and the whole desperate criminal circle surrounding it all.

Positives and negatives to it I suppose, like everything in life.

Mephedrone kind of works, I took 0,5g and I was wasted for at least an hour, perhaps I should have taken more to completly get the benefit.

Well,well,well,what a surprise.
Remember all that tabloid outrage at mephedrone causing the deaths of two teenagers which led very quickly to it being banned despite no toxicology reports?

"Toxicology tests have shown that two teenagers whose deaths were linked to mephedrone had NOT taken the drug."

Daily Mail, 18th March:
"Fury over the trade in legal drugs was growing yesterday following the deaths of Louis Wainwright, 18, and Nicholas Smith, 19, who took the drug before collapsing in Scunthorpe. "

As Richard Littlejohn might say, "you couldn't make it up (unless you write for the Daily Mail)".

Chalk up another victory for mindless hysteria.

Brilliant.

Incidentally since the ban has come in it seems like a lot more folks are taking it. This is not a scientific poll just what I've witnessed
