I know this is unrelated to album-leaks and trolling and tour-dates and stalker-stories and all such, much more exciting things but I just thought I'd like to post a link to this pretty cool picture of Morrissey and Phranc I saw in an old (1991) copy of NME. I guess most people have seen it before back in the day but I'd never seen it before and I think it's a great pic so here it is for anyone who's interested

Who's Phranc?

> Who's Phranc?

support act once
this was in the moz photo book taken around 1992 if i'm not mistaken

I often wondered if that book, Morrissey Shot, might be worth buying or not. Is it mainly pics or are there also descriptions/articles in the book?

I just recently saw the Jo Slee book for the first time, borrowed it from my library, and I must admit, though It's nice to read through it I wouldn't have wanted to actually buy the book.

Thanks for saying where the pic is from, I didn't know - but I got the impression the picture wasn't taken by Linder Sterling but by Danny Cummins (I scanned it from an old copy of the NME, the picture was shown on the 'Singles' page because the NME had made a song by Morrissey (Pregnant For The Last Time) and a song by Phranc (forgot the title) joint singles of the week...

> Who's Phranc?

I know her as the All-American Jewish lesbian folksinger.

Others have answered that she was the support act for Morrissey during his '91 tour. But she also opened for the Smiths. Peep her bio at her website:

That's a gorgeous pic of her and Mozzer. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite pic of Phranc is a topless one of her and Moz, Gaz, and Alain..First time I saw it I had to take a 'double take' as it was like a game of, 'which one of these is not like the other'!

Yeah, I like that picture too but didn't know for the longest time who the woman was. In fact, I still haven't heard any of her music - I gather it's folk'ish/punk'ish?!

Yes, and quite humourous as well. A friend of mine played it in the car one one of our many long drives to LA. Good stuff to keep you smiling!
