Not online as you can see but I chose to post the news about it here. They seem to have struggled a lot to make it.

In wait for Corbijn's new DM documentary I am watching the old one from the tour me and my brother went to in Stockholm. At this time DM added some new cool things like a electric guitar and a drum set at their gigs. To me this was their most interesting phase where the music expanded and the live gigs became one with the music.

No band or artist has aged more gracefully than these chaps.

Watching it reminded me how my brother at the time had a lot of David Gahan going on looks wise.

all i have to do today is get some groceries. i dont even have to do that. wouldnt you think that this was just great and pure freedom? meanwhile we are waiting for the turning of the tides.

Thanks for that vid on MF...I'd would never have gone searching for that, or anything to do with her, so thanks for putting it up, I really enjoyed it, which kind of surprised me, a lot.

thanks for lettin me know. good to see that one can actually give sth to people here.

btw, wondered if "some say i got devil" (1971) was inspired by faithfulls life until her suicide attempt in australia in 1969. the media reporting back then that "she is no longer in danger" made me prick up my ears.

something or -one inside me has connected to marianne faithfull. not sure yet what or who that might be.
throughout her life, she seems to have been a sensitive and self-reflecting person. her experience in life has made her notice that she passively let others decide over her, most often not to her advantage. now she is able to stop every ever so slight attempt to define or control the idea of who she is or was or will be, and always connected with that, certain emotional reactions expected or triggered, and then quickly and convincingly states her own analysis to protect herself from that. probably that fear of heteronomy is the reason why she often cant let people finish their sentences. i wonder to what extent her desire for autonomy is also reflected in her songs, esp the lyrics, and also the overall production process. i wouldve expected a bit more of her reflective faculties and analytical skills shimmering through these too. seems that sharing observations and experience is primarily the intention.

she has her own intellectual spirit and thus is able to position herself within controversies like metoo or the brexit. can british artists still do that nowadays without having to fear to lose half of their audience immediately? no signs though of any sensitivities towards animal rights issues, it seems.
dont know if she wrote this song on her own or if nick cave contributed his vision too.
i think the song is very sweet and i shed a few tears while listening to it this morning.
