I think all their (Johnny's, ahem) instrumentals are wonderful in their own way. Were they completely Johnny's or did the other guys contribute? (Here it comes......)

That's true, Joyce's drumming is superb.

I think "Oscillate Wildly" and "The Draize Train" were somewhat collaborative with Andy and Mike. In particular I think Goddard or someone says that Andy came up with the funky bassline on TDT (more prominent on the "Panic" version).

I love the story about Geoff Travis begging Morrissey to write words to "The Draize Train" because he thought it was a surefire #1 single. It's one of my favorite Smiths stories. Len Brown has it in his book I think, reprinted from a 1988 interview.
