Everyone is welcome and she goes way off schedule to talk to as many people as possible, listening to their stories, taking requests, signing things and taking pictures. There are dozens of reports from people in coffee shops and restaurants that ended up having a long conversation with her while she was there with a friend, her husband or her daughter. Also, working on a Tori Amos tour is as comfortable for a roadie as is possible. She pays well, the catering is sublime, is pleasant to work with and the buses for the crew offer top-notch comfort. She pre-finances her tours out of her own pocket to be as independent as possible and makes sure everybody is rewarded for the hard work they do. There is a reason why most people have been with her since 1996.

To say that she treats people like garbage is an assertion laughably far away from the truth. She is very very generous with fans, crew, journalists and staff at places she goes to. Such a level of direct involvement, professionalism and warmth of heart is probably quite rare.
