A friend put this band on a mix tape for me in 1995, but I honestly have not heard them since then.

What would be a good album to pick up? Is the older stuff better than their newer material?

It's all good but I like "I've Tried Everything".

it's ALL good

cake - first album, total genuis. particularly acoustic, in an aztec camera sort of way. sentimental as all hell.

i've seen everything - 2nd album, much pithier, both vocally and musically. some serious rockers on this one.

a happy pocket - 3rd album, released in japan only. f***ing brilliant - quite possibly the best album of all. intense, introspective, incredible.

weightlifting - 4th and newest album. shockingly good. makes you wonder why the f*** you bought all those britpop albums back in the day when you should have been supporting these guys. see them on tour.

...and don't forget the b-side comp "on a b-road", which is just as essential as all the above.

over and out.
