What's the gap between recording a Morrissey album and its release?

in relatively recent times? 2 months? 6 months?
Presumably, we have a pretty good idea when WP, YoR and ROTT were recorded...

'World Peace' came out 5 months after recording.
'Years of Refusal' came out 9 months later (a very long gap, I think due to issuing 'Greatest Hits')
'Ringleader' came out 5 months after recording.

So - fingers crossed this album might be out for Xmas this year?

Wasn't it due to the death of Jerry Finn? What about 'Quarry'?

I'm going quicker than before, technology is moving at a faster pace than ever now.im going for end of September and a tour in November.

I think the record company has to collapse first and a second company has to buy the rights. Pretty sure that is in the contract.

No, the album was done and dusted when he died, so that wasn't an issue. For some reason (presumably contractual wrangling), Morrissey decided to issue 'Greatest Hits' first, featuring two songs from 'Years of Refusal' before it had been released. It all smelled very pungently of an underhand tactic to get people to buy a very weak compilation album for two new songs - so in that sense it wouldn't make much sense to release 'Refusal' at the same time.
