He made Ian Curtis into a corporate coffeehouse hipster, sipping a jumbo latte while jotting down the horrors of life in the form of a nearby woman whose only apparent crime is to be thickish and middle-aged. If he had put iPod earbuds in his ears and a MacBook on the table it couldn't have been more offensive (and anachronistic).
