I don't think he will have sued, he loathes the legal system after all. I wouldn't be surprised if he received an out of court payment.

Let's hope the nme goes the same way as the melody maker. As someone who brought both regularly up until the late nineties it is complete trash now. Over priced, glossy and full of poor journalism. Back in the early nineties it was sometimes a decent read with some good articles. Think it was 50 pence back then and nice and inky.

But surely he will only get an out of court payment if legal proceedings are sought?

Not sure if he got a settlement, but definately got an apology / retraction.
Think it was 'Word' - Quantick is / was editor.

thats the one..... must have armed the lawyers though , i would imagine these things take time .
