I was getting sick of playing Razorlight and The Ordinary Boys on the car journey into work, so this morning I decided to take an album I've not listened to for ages.
I picked George Best by The Wedding Present
What a cracker!
I had to play My Favourite Dress twice.

Are there any others?

Television - Marquee Moon

Television - Marquee Moon

Brilliant album.

The Fall's Frenz Experiment is a record I listen to alot - I don't think it's necessarily their best album, but I like it anyway.

Excellent compilation of early works/b-sides/etc.

Funny you should mention that, I was listening to seamonsters the other day and enjoyed that agin immensely too. Have you got any Cinerama albums? the boy Gedge is still on form.

I've taken a liking for The Delgados recently too..

I like Tommy - sort of the Wedding Present's Hatful of Hollow.
And am I the only person who thinks the Strokes are a Wedding Present tribute band?

I'll put my hand up for The Delgados as well Stan. I don't quite see why they aren't as big as they deserve to be.

Three cheers for Mr Gedge, I say.

Since having a CD player fitted in the car, I've been trawling through my collection and playing albums that I hadn't heard in years. Some of the more memorable ones:

This Nation's Saving Grace - The Fall
Marquee Moon - Television (mentioned elsewhere in this thread)
Doolittle - Pixies (its brilliance was always acknowled, but when you play it again after a couple of years it still knocks you out)
1st Velvet Underground album
Va Va Voom - Cinerama (now my fave Cinerama LP)
New Order - Power, Corruption and Lies

And for new music, I'm very impressed with "Duophone" by Persil.

So what is this resurgence in Southern hemisphere oval ball skills.. You've learnt wisely from the world champions I feel! haha despite that 'tour too far'..

So how are things? what's the music scene like down there?? Me. I'm Off to see Spearmint, and the French (ex Hefner) on 17th at the hallowed 100 Club..

Keep it real MrLof.

Well we only beat South Africa in the last 10 seconds of the game. I really sense that Graham Henry is building a good team up for next year's challenge by the British Lions tour down under. The All Blacks are good in the years between World Cups, but not during the World Cup.

Everything else is fine, although I'm a bit crook after giving Jonah my kidney.

'Teenage' by Andy White

or, er 'Rave On'. Rave on is terrific now I think of it
