So even suedehead alone, at eight cents a play, brings the songs owner eight hundred thousand dollars. Don't know what mozs cut would be but it seems worth it. Why would people have songs on there at all if it didn't benefit them in some way

Still seems like worth while money. Sure hes not drake but hes not built to spill either and I'm guessing his contract is better than one direction who seem like a boy band which means I'm guessing there songwriting royalties don't really add up. Not saying artists are getting fairly paid but it still seems to pay out a decent amount of money for an artist like Morrissey for not doing much other than giving concent. it seems worth it.

Just out of curiosity.
Does anyone keep a track of how many songs did Morrissey write in his life? (the Smiths and solo)

it has to be a pittance for an almost universal condemnation by musicians. the royalties due the songwriter are almost invisible.

298 according to the Solo wiki, though you could remove a few because it includes covers

i dont think Moz has written a single song, he has co written a couple hundred.
back in the day you had mechanicals, performance and record royalties, which all have basically gone by the wayside.

I doubt it, if someone cowrote the lyrics we'd know given that people like to belittle Morrissey as much as possible.

Yeah but some do make money. in The article skinny posted I think it said there number one played made like fifteen mil. I guess it depends on who you are and while Morrissey isn't the seller drake is he does have a lot of songs and a lot of popularity even today. Every special edition uncut rehashes probably adds to clicks even for new songs like paris which was in his top ten played
