Moz is obviously not a very reliable, straightforward, down-to-earth kinda fella. That's why he's written some great songs, but that's also why he frequently doesn't get on with people around him in the music biz...

ironically enough, it seems he did get the job immediately after Marr left the Smiths. Joyce was asked by Moz to help sort out tasks such as getting a new guitarist on board etc...
