I must say that he looks quite good. Glad he appears to be doing well after the disaster that was late 2012/early 2013.

I got my signed copy!

I got there at about eight in the morning and then there were about 50-60 people queuing. When the signing started about a quarter to five maybe 500 people were queuing. He really took his time with the fans, giving hugs, chatting, signing arms etc. He was very nice and seemed very happy. Eventhough I was among the first 50-60 people it took almost two hours after Morrissey arrived before I could meet him. I was talking to a woman who worked at the book store, Akademibokhandeln, and apprarently Penguin contacted them saying that Morrissey wanted to come to Sweden to do a book signing. Akademibokhandeln proposed that he came to Stockholm but Morrissey wanted to come to Gothenburg. She also said that he is going to Berlin next but probably not for a book signing. The Penguin people who were there said that this would be the only book signing. But who knows?

I'm happy for you, but green with envy in the same time. All I could do (to be in Göteborg in spirit), was to drive to the local IKEA listening to <The best of Morrissey> in my car & thinking when my copy of the book will make it across the Atlantic.

It was fantastic! All fear of embarrasment in meeting my hero, and the nerves that showed up the last half hour, fell completely away as I said hi and we begun a conversation that lasted merely a couple of minutes, but felt like an hour. He smiled and showed sincered interest. Nobody paid attention to the guards sourronding the spot and the excited people behind, waiting for their moments. My day was complete after Morrissey gave me a warm hug and said "thank you". He is truly a warm and sensitive person. I'll never forget this day. :)

why is this all so sad for me?

an end of an era. the mystique of morrissey is over.

could that damon chap be any more swarmy looking?

do we know if everyone got a signed book or did some people get shut out?

Hundreds of fans did not get their books signed. There were tears.

What do you mean, because he's talked about his relationships? Everyone knew about Jake. Or because he's talked about his life, which he's done loads before. It's not the end of Moz.

That's a shame, particularly for those who travelled a long way. Can't really be helped though. Moz stayed for well over his allotted time.

How's your Swedish? Fluent, presumably.

I got that joke. Patting myself on the back right now. :lbf:

I hope the Ryanair guy who was recently made redundant got his book signed. :(

Yeah! I wonder why he hasn't posted today. I hope he is not drowning out his pain in some pub right now.

What a complete joke!!! Simply a scandalous book signing of Akademikbokhandeln. The process was too slow and hundreds of people went in vain. There were people from the U.S.! which went in vain! Why didn't Morrissey's management or Adademikboghandeln speed the proces up? There was no time for a talk show, right?. Many waited for many hours and went in vain. WHAT A WASTE FOR NOTHING!

Okay...I like to think of myself as kind of sharp, but I didn't get the joke.
