Morrissey interview in Aftonbladet (Swedish)

Re: Swedish Article

It looks like he did not visit friends in Stockholm. From what I understand it was not a nice trip at all according to what he says so it seems he met some specialist about his illness.

The headline is "No, I did not have fun in Stockholm at all".

Love this: "I think that many people suffer from not understanding that one's personality can be several pages long. Not just one."

This is the first time I have ever disagreed with you. If you can't sum up your life story in 2 pages, like a resume/CV, there's a real issue. Would you want to read a letter on someone's life story that was 28 pages long? I wouldn't.

;)

Curriculum Vitome.

Geddit? Geddit? Vitae? Vitome?

I'll get me sweatshirt.

Is "The water has gone" a Britishism? Because I've never heard it before and have no idea what it means.

It's when your having a baby and the water breaks. I guess it's badly translated by google...

Call me when you're crowning, Morrissey.

"Many people would be happy if I died"
That's right BECAUSE YOUR EVIL AND YOU LIE AND IF YOU SHOULD DIE I MAY FEEL SLIGHTLY SAD BUT I WONT CRY !
WHEN WILL YOU DIE ? WHEN WILL YOU DIE ?

But Morrissey wouldn't have said that would he, because no-one has ever used that expression before to mean 'nearly there', even though it works.

Regarding this:

"I do not think that soldiers who are prepared to die for their country are heroes - I think they are confused. Had people not been prepared to be soldiers there would have been war."

I would add something that Morrissey may not be familiar with. In the US we have this thing called the G.I. Bill which pays the college tuition for people who enlist after they serve their term in the armed forces. The recruiters for the army are AGGRESSIVE and they are allowed on high school campuses to nab the kids when they're stupid and caught unaware. They are quite manipulative, the promise of a free education and chance to see the world is almost irresistible to a poor kid with little to look forward to after graduation. So it's not the soldiers who should be attacked, it's the manipulative system of recruiting. The soldiers in my book are still heros, they don't know what they're signing up for, they think they're signing up for a college grant and a trip on a fancy plane. Then once they're in the shit they're further manipulated to not see what they're doing. THe army is largely comprised of very simple, good-natured people who are good at following orders.

If he considers his book his baby, then it's almost born. THat's how I read it.

"The water has gone", well if I had to transalate in my own language it could be "Acqua passata" as something passed away, quite like he stopped writing because he's busy with the tour, but, of course, in english it could mean something very different or he's simply joking and been mysterious to increasing attention about his new book. He knows so much about this things.

Swedes have always been well known for not confronting the famous, that is why many famous people have only said good things about the place. I can only suspect that Morrissey happened to run into a lot of swedish hipsters from the south of Stockholm. It's not very swedish at all to bother the famous.

I read the marvellous interview and was thinking to myself how RB must struggle with Moz's view on men as she flies the flag for macho men on here a lot. Morrissey places himself firmly among the beta men and that is interesting in many aspects. You simply do not have to be a a macho alfa male to succeed in life and become someone, of that Morrissey is living proof.

Morrissey places himself on the political spectrum and is no doubt very left wing. I would like to thank him for his comment about cancer and how it works. We all carry these cells and they are ready to go off any second and it truly is a miracle that any of us live past the age of 22. This interview was witty and full of facts but he seems to have lost the hope and lives his life like som victim so that part is sad.

He was in Stockholm to see a cancer specialist and when you are somewhere for that reason the attention you normally cope well with can be overwhelming. I can even name the specialist in question but out of respect for Moz and the specialist I will not but it caused a stir among the young nurses.

Bad publicity for Sweden and swedes in general but we know that americans will think he was in Switzerland anyway so no worries.

To clear this once and for all:
The English equivalent of "vattnet har gått" (moranically translated by GT to The water has passed) is "the water broke, the water has broken". Which in this case means that the book is ready to be launched.

Stop messin' about.
